Bullsh!t Parking Ticket

So I was sleeping over my girlfriends house as usual. I parked my car on the side of the street where there are no signs at all. People park here all the time and I've been parking here for nearly two years. This afternoon when I woke up I got a bull**** ticket for an infraction of "park in excess of 3 hours". What kind of bull**** is that? There are no signs telling me I can only park there for a certain amount of time. The ticket is only $30 but I am still pissed off as hell. I wanted to punch the bylaw officer square in the mouth. I'm gonna fight it so I can see his face. That was my rant.

PS: This area is in Central Park, a suburban area.

You should come to Guelph. Parking bylaw officers here are referred to as parking ****'s. I see them outside of hospital just after the meters run out but just before visiting hours are over. Brutal.

There is often a sign, often close to the Population sign for an area that states a 3 hr. parking limit for all areas. It $ucks, but that's what they do. Ask for a court date. It'll probably be in a year and then no one will show.
GL, good rant BTW.

Hey Bud! I feel your pain! Why? Cuz I got the same bullsh!t ticket yesterday... and this was infront of my own house!

Now here's my rant!

I left my winter beater infront of my house, because I took the G out to work yesterday. There's only ONE SIGN just before my house that says... no parking, with an arrow pointing towards the right (means, no parking BEFORE my house, before the sign, but any spot on the side of this residential street AFTER that sign is okay!)

Well, I came home to a stupid 3 hour parking ticket as well!

It said something like, parked for 3 hours between 9:03am - 12.06pm... the bastard issued it 3 minutes after 3 hours! Infront my of own house, and the car was parked AFTER the stupid sign! There is ABSOLUTELY no other sign that indicates any kind of parking limitations or anything anywhere else along this street!

Now, mind you... people park here overnight, myself included, because my neighbours either have too many cars or the visitors have no parking spot, because there's still a ton of snow covering the visitor spots in the housing complex.

The ticket was for $15 dollars, but I'm debating if it's worth my trouble to fight it (I know I'll win), or just pay it and hope it doesn't happen again. I wasn't the only one who got a ticket, all the other cars including my neighbour got dinged too! Well, it won't happen during the day again, cuz my Dad is driving my beater now, so it won't be parked, until the evening time and overnight. I've never seen a ticket issued for overnight, but they issued one during the day for a 3 hour period!?!?! Make any sense!? NONE AT ALL! (not to me anyway!)

As you can see, I'm quite upset about the situation as well, but damn... if they're going to issue a ticket, there should be a sign that clearly indicates the by-law or time limit between certain hours or whatever!

I'm almost certain maybe a neighbour called the parking enforcement office and complained.

This occurred in a very quiet residential neighbourhood in Toronto.

Yeah, fighting a ticket takes an entire day in court I heard. I'm still going to go though for the principal.

I've had too many parking tickets to bother fighting them off. I just pay and forget about it.

iv gotten over 40 parking tickets in the passed 2 year and iv heard back only from 3! and the parking maid has only shown to court once and it was a 30 dollar ticket and i got fined for 10 lol..

there are roughly 400,000 tickets that go to court every 6 months in the GTA and only 10% are addressed at least thats how it was before the 6 new courts they have now. and if you think its a wasted of time waiting in line then you have been going to the wrong spot! best place by far never waited for more then 3-4 people is the one on young street north of sheppard. its on the west side of young in a large plaza, i believe the number is 5100 young street. it will not say this place on all of the backs of the ticket but one i got a long time ago had it and i always go there
