The rear springs are what are used to adjust the ride height. there is a locking collar on the rear springs between the rear seat and the main spring. You can adjust it up or down about 1 inch.

So after taking these out for a spin I can say I'm really happy with them. The number 1 settings is about as soft as stock and I have it set to 5 now. It is stiff without being jarring. The damping is really well tuned with the shocks. This totally feels like an OEM type setup only stiffer. I'll set them to 10 tomorrow and see how stiff they get.

All in all I'm quite happy, they are quiet and ride really nice.

Wow thats crazy they were that hard I did mine in an evening with no air tools and I took my time an drank beer and BSed with a buddy. My car has never seen rain or snow that makes a difference. I hope you enjoy them like I said my PSS9 are one of my best mods.

Got a chance to beat on the coilovers a bit tonight.

All I have to say is WOW. These things are simply awesoome. First off, they are really quiet, no clunks, thumps or pops. Second, they handle really nice. The cornering is much sharper now and the damping is stiff but not jarring. My car feels glued to the ground.

Really happy I went with these.

Elrooko, My tein basics are supposed to re-use some stock parts as well, including the upper mounts. My mechanic recommended that I buy all new oem stock parts since my car has 79,000kms on it. He says the mounts might crumble and fall apart. Nissan tells me these stock parts for all four corners will cost almost five hundred bucks! My mechanic works for $60 an hour. What would you recommend?

Get a new mechanic. Mine were 6 years old and have 77K on them. they were just fine. The rubber was just about perfect. I sprayed a bit of black rust paint on the upper mounts just to clean them up. they worked perfect. Don't replace them, they will work just fine.

Hey can you post a picture of your fronts? Mine dropped about 1.5 inches in total now that the springs have settled and it is a bit lower than I anticipated. I was curious to know if it was something that I haven't adjusted properly or if it is just the way the coilovers work. The rears only dropped about 1 inch in total and I have to adjust them down a bit.

Whoever said these coilovers aren't low enough is smoking crack. They are plenty low.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread. I'm thinking of getting PSS10s for my sedan, which doubles a daily driver and occasional track days.

How do you like your setup now that you've had a few months on them?

I love these coilovers. They are great. I bought them primarily for ride quality and for occasional track days and these are the ones that totally fit that bill from all my research.

They are "wife" approved as well - on the softest setting, she doesn't know the difference between these and the stock suspension in terms of ride quality.

hey bro, can these be raise th stock ht or will it automatically lower your ride be a few inches at it's highest setting? Also what setting do u have it at and is going to 10 just unbareable?

I called BilStein and they told me to raise them up above what the recommended height was in the install. That was basically because these were made for the 350Z which sits 10MM lower than the G. The tech from BilStein didn't seem to think there was an issue raising them at all, only going lower than the recommended spec wasn't advised. You could raise them up to stock height - there is loads of thread on the coilover. I wouldn't since it looks way better a little lower. I only lowered it about 1.2 inches in the front and 3/4 inch in the rear. No issues with alignment - but I am out of alignment spec (~0.1 deg) just barely in the front but the alignment shop said not to worry about - wasn't worth the price of the alignment kit. I think stock spec is -0.5 to -1.5 and I am at -1.6 or 1.7. If I raised it by 0.2 inches (to -1.0 inches of drop) I would be at around -1.3 or -1.4 degrees which is within stock specs.

BilStein support is simply awesome - called them a whole bunch of times with questions and they were eager to help.

EDIT: About stiffness - anything above 7 IMHO is just too stiff for city driving. If you hit a pot hole or a bump it feels totally wooden and unnatural. Honestly I leave it at 1 for just driving around. If I want to have fun I put it up to around 5 but not past that unless I am at the track.
