Sorry to read that guys. It sounds like the state of the Ontario economy is going to hurt a lot more than those affected by job losses etc.

I'm sure ours is coming soon too. The government has been delaying the budget and our "stimulous package" for a long time now.

IMO, it is really not a good time to do all this. We (Ontario) have already loss so much manufacturing related business. And now with this shxt, it is just going to push more people/ talents alway from Ontario.

Hey, Ontario is also sticking it to the rest of the world. There's a new "tax" for electrical devices (ESA - Ontario Electrical Product Safety Legislation 438/07) - all companies producing electrical equipment for sale in Ontario or that could be re-sold in Ontario have to pay an annual $300 registration fee, plus an initial fee of $350 to get started. This requirement is above the CSA regulatory requirements which are already designed to ensure product safety. Nice one.

This tax sucks... and the only people fighting it are the Natives...

How much does the government want us to be taxed? I dont think people really understand how much this is going to affect people. Government is very clear on the tax, and the media hasnt really taken a fighting point of view against it.

Either way, were all f'd.

Clearly these governments dont want to be voted back in.

i'm in manufacturing... i guarantee u it won't help a single manufacturer that i know of... and anyone that is going to save will surely pocket it. if u think manufacturers are going to start passing savings on to the end user... u are too gullible for your own good. if u only saw the information package we got this week... looks like an encyclopedia... and it's supposed to be easier now??

That one is almost signature worthy

I have heard talks of this coming our way as well. I heard the east coasters think the HST saved them money, mind you it was CBS I saw that report on.
