Dealer Rant... ah F* It: 401 Dixie S*CKS!

Ya thats right... I hate 401/Dixie.

Long story short, they told me the problem, but said they couldn't fix it and Id have to get parts elsewhere, after 1100 bucks later the problem is STILL THERE. Are the technicians even certified to work on a car?!

I guess I should have known when I dropped my car off at 2 for an inspection appointment that was supposed to take an hour, and showed up at 430 with my car in the EXACT SAME SPOT... and then had to wait another hour and a half for my car to be checked.

I want a f*in refund. Not only on my 1100 bucks I spent on my car on the problem they diagnosed, but also the 62 bucks they charged me to write BULLSH*T on a slip of paper, and waste 5 hours of my time.

I hope someone from 401/D sees this cause Im pissed.

Out of curiosity, what's the problem, and what fix did you pay for?

An hour and half inspection for $1100, no parts and then told they can't fix the problem. What's the rest of the story?

+1, I'm curious what happened, you did not say. There is something missing here.

I have a rattle in the front drivers side wheelwell, very similar to a compression arm noise. They told me it was either the compression rod or the spindel, each was about 700 to change. So to be sure I asked the to do the 'whatever it is put it on the hoist and check thing they charge 62 bucks for" to find out which I needed to change. After my wait, the technician came back and told me it was my upper control arm ball joints, and since they were SPC they couldnt get the parts. So I got the upper control arms from JRP, @ $760, then install was $225, then alignment was another $125... plus the original $62 for the dealer to tell me it was the ball joints.

I had a post on here a couple months ago about this noise, I factored it into a $4300 brake job they quoted me.... Basically they said if I brought them the control arms, they would install them... which would cost over $400 bucks, plus Id need to get an alignment afterwards which they couldn't do because my car was 'lowered'. In the end, Im tired of bending over for them because they dont use lube.

I think I might start going to Vic... Even though its an hour away, it seems like the 2 hours round trip will save me headaches.

^sounds like it would have been a good idea to see Vic based on your past history.

G/L with the fix and the refund. Hopefully Vic can give you a proper diagnosis.

If you are getting any work done outside of warranty work, the drive out to Vic's shop is definitely worth it. It takes me about 40 mins from where I live and I don't think twice about the distance. Knowing that the car is fixed properly the first time is worth the drive.

nice to know that dixie/401 still has tremendously horrible service. i also had multiple problems with them when i owned my car. to be honest... i don't know of a single dealer in the mississauga area that can even come close to a "satisfactory" rating for service.

my dad used to own an fx45. he took it in there for an oil change once... dropped it off at 7:30am. guy told him it would be ready by noon. he went to pick it up at 4pm.. it was sitting outside in the same spot... he was like, "that's great! i don't even have to look around the parking lot for it." goes inside to pay and he's told that they haven't even started on it yet. pathetic.

funny how neither of us own an infiniti any more

If you don't mind me asking, who is Vic?

bougizu i so agree with you, i can't stand 4o1 Dixie...
I had a similar issue, payed so much $$$ to get an issue fixed and it tooked them 3-4 times to get it right...

Hardly apologetic either... not sure if it was because i was younger or what the case may be.. but i have never felt welcome at this place...

You'd think after 3-4 years of getting your service done there and spending lots of $$$ they'd lighten up...

I live in North York and now drive to Oakville for my services.

I dont think surveys matter either, as i reflected my opinion and never received one call or letter from Infiniti...

i even went to Simone performance last week just for oil change, i must tell you i live a mile away from the dealership in downtown!!!!

Plus look at this search results,
https://g35driver.com/forums/search....archid=7301493

it might give you an idea what could have been the issue. I would suggest try getting the refund from dealership first, because if you a Vic and solve the issue, they ll say you work outside of warranty and will do everything to not give you your huge refund!!

thats my 2 cents.
