Tires
I'm close to buying a low-mileage 04 G35 coupe MT6.
The tires will probably need replacing within a couple of months.
I have a couple of questions on tires.
I've always bought my tires from Costco..and had them installed there. never had an issue. I'm looking at a set of Mich Pilot MXM4.
Do any of you have these tires and what are your opinions on them ?? and..any issue with Costco installations ??
The current owner has been using Petro-Canada Syn oil. I was thinking on going with Mobil 1 or castrol Syntec. What oils do you guys use?
thanks in advance for any and all opinions.
Cheers
Jack

Have never dealt with Costco for tires but as with any shop, if the people there know what theyre doing it should be fine. MXM4 are all season touring tires so i wouldnt expect the best grip out of those tires. If you dont need the performance of summer tires then you'll be fine with the michelins.
Use any oil you want. I would stick with synthetic now since the previous owner had already done so. There's been debate about the best oil for the G with alot of info however there is nothing concrete

Got to someplace like Tirerack.com, think about the kind of driving you do, and read some of the reviews. Popular tires among G drivers seem to be Falkens (cheap and not bad), Toyo T1R, Michelin Pilot Sport A/S.

I've only had PS1 and PS2 michelins. Summers-not all seasons great for grip, decent for ride and noise but fast wearing. The tires you're describing at least one step down from what the car came with. You'll sacrifice performance for more wear.
I use German castrol now but started with Mobil 1.

Looking for replacement tires for an 06 AT5.
It now has (F) 225-50-17, and (r) 235-50-17. I've read some good things about the Bridgestone Potenza Re-11, but they are only available in those sizes as a "45" not a "50". Would these fit ??
Apparently these tires are a bit better than the Falkens & Hankooks.
Thanks

I don't know for sure, but I was checking out tires at Costco for the van and could not find a date code on some tires. I didn't ask and I could have missed it. Just that made me a bit suspicious, something to consider.
+1 on Falken's. I had a pair of Falken FK-452 Tires and they treadwear and grip as great!. I got them at clearance on 1010tires.com out of van... no duty or extra conversion costs...
im using potenza re-760 its been 2 months, really good grip not as good as pilot sport they say but , trying hard on highway ramps but still no sign of weakness yet, i got it for 875 plus tax
I got the MXM4's on my maxima and like then but for the G you should go with the sport A/s I think. Cosco has good prices on ther Michelin's hey are as big a buyer from michelin as the OEM market. Iknow this cuz I used to work building Michelin Tires.
