On top of the GST, PST, and duty, there will be an excise tax ($100). To import a BMW, she'll have to get a couple letters from BMW. One is a recall clearance letter which is about $500. The other is a letter of admissibility which costs $350.

Riv.ca is a very important site if she decides to import.
http://www.willz.ca/importusatocanada.htm is also helpful.

also, you will pay an additional 6.1% in taxes, i got tht taxed for my z because it was made in japan. So, total your looking at 20%, which is not bad because in canada you pay 13% for taxes anyways.

This will give your friend an idea of the expected import costs.
