If you go with anyone outside bell or rogers cust service is going to suck, and it there is ever any technical problems how long will they take to get it repaired. Good thing about rogers is that you can get credit if you know how to talk to them.. bell wont give you a dime..

what does this have to do with a G?

try http://www.howardforums.com/ or redflagdeals.com forums... or even the proper sections here @ g35driver.com

don't take this the wrong way but, today we'll be talking about phone/internet companies, the next day it will be about sex/weight lifting and then birdwatching/fishing....etc. etc. we don't want to start a chain here.

I will second this. I have both Cogeco Cable and Teksavvy in my home. Cogeco for gaming, Teksavvy for downloading. Its 39.99 for a 5meg unlimited DSL line. And I truely mean unlimited. Last month I pulled down 750+ gigs.

The great thing about them is when you phone them you get a real person who lives in Canada to answer the phone!!

Also for extreemists like me they support MLPPP for DSL bonding.

Lighten up T, we're all here to help each other. Once answered this thread like many others will fall into the depths of the archive.

I would encourage all our canadian members to post more rather than less.

the market is pretty much a monopoly for cable internet. in either case u are still running off the backbone's of both your local telephone and cable company's.

i would love to switch from rogers for my internet... but there just isn't another company out there that offers services through cable. dsl seems to have far more choice when it comes to picking another provider... but my signal sucks at my home (too far from routing station). so i'm basically stuck. canada's market is horrible when it comes to utilities.. and don't even get me started on the cell markets!

why does the canada section have to be G oriented only ? we've had some great threads in the past ranging from political to vacations to light muses and even organizing the ariel atom event. plus it's a great way to talk about anything and everything related to canada.

i don't even own a G any more but still come back to this section because i've met some great people on here who are down to earth and mature when it comes to conversation. there are a ton of other forums here to post only G related info and bore people with another "why don't my door locks work" thread.... don't ruin a good thing here

just my 2 cents.

You could check if Sentex works in your area... I'm not sure but they might.

Sentex.ca or sentex.net is the website.

Super cheap and they are independent, customer service is amazing, I called them at 8:05 (they close at 8) because my modem stopped working and this guy was just leaving work and he came a brought me a brand new one haha, didn't even charge me for it.

Good company!

There is a thread near the top of hte hot deals section of RFD where many folks are signing up for an ISP that uses the bell DSL backbone, but for $19.99/mo all in, and customers (including my cousin) are very happy with their service. Do a quick search and you will see a detailed thread with testimonials...

Wow , Thanks guys. Came back from work just now and overwhelmed with all these suggestions. Will definately research into these. I live in the downtown area, so not sure if some of these options might work as some smaller cabel or internet companies are regional and focus their services on certain territories only.
