Question Need some cold air it's getting muy caliente!

Hey guys, have been doing some research and i'm now seriously considering investing in a K&N typhoon cold air intake for the Demon. The exhaust is locked and loaded but she now needs some high flowing clean air to stay cool. K&N is boasting a guaranteed 9.5hp gain for my model and year.

Your thoughts...?

alll intakes guarantee almost the same thing. You were saying your cars strictly show so why not go for a much better looking Injen or Fujita. Youll see some gains but it looks 100 times better

If you want more cool air,
the Motordyne iso-thermal kit is also a great addition.
Loved it on my '04

I'm gonna check this out, since i'm also in the market for a cold air intake. hmmm...will an intercooler provide better results then a standard CIA? I dont' plan on driving this in the winter so, I don't need a bypass or anything

I noticed a huge reduction in plenum heat soak,
especially driving around town.

That is a brilliant idea I had never considered changing the intake manifold or seriously applying spacers. The MRev2 manifold would be a very logical choice considering the performance gain with a 5/16" spacer. Thanks a lot InTgr8r, Motordyne is definitely on my list now.

Sorry but what exactly are "CEL's"? and why are they not good?

A CEL is the check engine light. Also, the Motordyne spacer and MRev2 won't give a CEL, at least I've never heard of it doing that.

Sorry, don't mean to thread jack.

Will a Nismo R-Tune CAI cause a CEL? Does anyone have one installed on their car?

I'm not 100% sure about this but I don't think an intercooler is an option as you need to force the air through an intercooler by pressurizing the air. I don't think the cylinders will produce enough suction to pull the air through the intercooler in a NA engine.

Maybe someone else can comment who knows more about this?

I would have to agree as well, fins insided the intercooler is just much restriction for N/A engine. But intake spacer and Mrev2 is definitely good mod for the N/A engine.
