Good Luck this weekend RBull

Deane I wish you a safe weekend with Hurricane Bill approaching the Halifax area on Sunday.
I can't help but feel concern for you. I know you will batten down the hatches and hopefully Bill will stay out at sea and miss you guys.
Stay safe my friend.

Yes be safe. You never know what can happen with this Hurricane approaching. I'm a bit worried about my Mother she is still on vacation down there. She is staying at my Grandmother's house which is right on the Atlantic in Nova Scotia.

Thanks for the well wishes Wayne and Shilo. I appreciate you making this thread Wayne.

At first it seemed this was going to skirt by but latest reports tell a different story. I believe Halifax and the eastern shore (where Shilo's family are ) plus Cape Breton are going to take the hit. I've seen forecasts ranging from 70- 150 mm of rain for us here and sustained winds of 110-130k which is about 30-50k less than Juan and 55-75 less than the gusts of Juan.

Hopefully everyone will be safe and damage will be minimal. In the past we've lost some shingles and soffit but that's about it. I've got some work to do now putting away the rest of our outdoor stuff. Fortunately the cars etc will be inside.

Shilo, best wishes for your mom and grandmom.

Strangely there seems to be a curious excitement from people rather than fear and that includes myself.

Deane

Hurricane Bill

Hurricane Bill is set to hit the Maritimes tomorrow. We are not supposed to get it too bad, only 40mm of rain and winds gusting to 60km/h. Deane on the other hand is forecasted to get a whopping 140mm of rain with winds up to 90km/h. Stay safe down there Deane!!

Take care of yourself down there Deane! The sky looked scary enough here tonight in Peterborough, I can only imagine what they must look like over there!

The weather has been very strange around here lately. Tornado's in Toronto? I don't think I have ever heard of that before but it definitely happened earlier this week.

Be safe!

Thanks Bill and Sam.

It's just beginning to get a little windier at about 45k gusting a little more. An hour ago it was 10k. It's supposed to hit around 11am atlantic with full force about 4 hours later.

90-140mm of rain. It's pretty weird because it's so dark but warm with a humidex of 34 now at 9am.

Yeah, we had over 2 weeks that it's been hot and humid.

It's pretty windy and wet right now.
