Curve ball question Re: Installing 06 projectors on a 03 Coupe
Okay, I've tried to search this question out on the board but have been unsuccessful.
I have a 2003 G35 Coupe that was imported from the US. The guy I bought the car from says he went to Crappy Tire to have them install the daytime running lights module. I can only assume that the module they install is the one in the pic that I've attached to this posting shown on their website.
I now have the option of buying a set of 06 projector headlamps (post recall) from a Canadian coupe. Will I have an issue with the DRL module being installed OR will I be able to just 'plug and play' these new headlamps despite the fact that the module is installed?
Help

For what it's worth, the DRL module is needed to pass your federal inspection when the car is first imported. I have an american vehicle as well and I installed mine myself (as per my hamsar DRL how to I made).
I have since disconnected the unit and plan to pull the thing out next time I have my bumper off. You can keep it or loose it but either way your lights should work fine.
My 2 cents

I'm only guessing but having a Canadian car and buying US projectors and i had to add two relays and some new grounds to make the them have DRL, I'm going to say it will not work. The Canadian lights will have the proper wires for the DRL where the American ones don't, so the module on the Canadian lights will be redundant and the DRL may not work. But i am totally guessing here. Just buy some American ones and you will have no issues.
I think your question is a tough one unless someone else has the exact same set up. I have a US car and added the DRL mod then I bought 06 US projectors and everything worked fine. I think red35 is right he had issues with his set up that is the reverse of your set up (him CAN car US lights you US car CAN lights) it can be made to work it might take more effort that buying the US lights though.

I called Canadian Tire and the mechanic there tells me that the module they install simply sends power to the headlight assembly as soon as the car is started. He claims that there should be no impact to the headlight assembly if it is switched. Now, the question is whether I believe what he says
I would believe a C-Tire Mechanic like I would believe their packaging.
Hmmmm didn't I buy a torque wrench from them that is CLEARLY labeled IN-LBS but is calibrated to FT-LBS
