looks like its time for a beater....
Never thought I'd be looking for a beater again but with me going back and forth to Waterloo and my Wife starting her new job in Guelph I just can't drive the G that far a distance in the snow even with some good snow tires the front of the car along with other areas would just get ruined.
I'm looking for something around the thousand dollar mark, I don't mind spending a little more if its a good buy and a good deal.
If any of you know of a good car please pass the info to me.
Thanks
Roy

You might give this site a try.

GL in your search. IIRC there is an older van somewhere for under $1000 in there.

Thanks Sam for the link I'll check it out.
(One thing I noticed the people selling hondas and Toyotas are asking some rediculous prices for there car because of the reputation in reliability. Some cars that are reliable and aren't that much are Hyundai, Ford Focous and some mazdas I would include Nissan but I don't think they are that reliable once they reach high Km's IMO plus the thought of replacing those MAF's make me cringe)

Update on my search......NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL!!!!! people's definition of mint is way off to my standards, its rediculous how some of the cars are described and when I go and see them their total junk, the ones that are decent are firm high prices for the year and km's and the ones that are the real good deal are gone within the first hour posted.
I did however find a Maxima (ya I know what I said but they seem to be best bang for the dollar unless you want to go Domestic) this one is in London its a 99' 227kms ES model loded whithout leather, its in good shape for the year and my only concern is the engine light wich doesn't affect the perfomance of the car so it may be a minor sensor other than that one nothing else so far. I actually told a guy off yesterday because he described his 98' mazda 626 in mint condition and when I got there the car looked like it hadn't been washed in 3 years plus it looked like a family of dogs lived in the interior with all the rips in the leather plus the stains in the carpet....so the search continues.

I bought myself a beater in May. A 2000 Mazda Protege put the winters on already and hauled the alternator out last night for a rebuild. Plug change this weekend followed by a tranny oil change, oil change and a rad flush. Should be good to go for Nov 1st, when I store the G. Good luck on finding a decent beater.

I drive my winter beater more than I drive my G coupe - it is a 2000 Accord SE 5MT Sedan that I bought last october. I honestly prefer driving it more than the G35 at times, because it is smoother over the rough downtown toronto pavement, I can park it anywhere without worries, and it just seems that it is built better overall than my G35C.
Roy, my advice is to spend a bit more and buy a better vehicle which you can sell back for what you paid. There tends to be a lot better vehicles in the 3500 to 5000 range.
