Its working so far. I put a removable cap on this one which proved to be week in the o-ring. I have it triple o-ringed now and it held 60psi before i dropped it to 35. Buddy at Home Depot totally thought i was building a pipe bomb.
I've had a tube in my truck for 2 years. Tire pressure light has never come on.

here's a couple of other "bombs" that I came across.

just had a set of Yoko Geolander A/T-S installed on the wife's CRV on Saturday down in Bellingham at Discount Tire. awesome service, everything as promised. installed and out the door for $535. my best price in Vancity was $999+.
for reference i got pricing on replacement tires for my coupe 19" Rays. the Hankook V12 was the best price, installed and out the door for $725. my best price in Vancity for those would be $1200+.
this is a no-brainer for anyone who lives within ~1.5 hrs of the border. also had a F/R alignment done for $60 (tax included).

I don't mean to hijack this but you seem to bee discussing it a bit.
Am I to understand that if you keep your programmed tpms sensors in the vehicle, in a pressurized container, that the vehicle TPMS will still sense them and the dash light will not come on?

^ this has been discussed in the V36 section as well.
It was debatable whether it would work on 2nd gen.
I'm thinking about experimenting with it.

I have had this exact set up on my 06 Frontier (same sensors) for around 2 years and have yet to have the light come on. I had offroad wheels and road/winter wheels for it and i was too cheap to buy a 2nd set of sensors. I actually havent added air to the trucks tube since October at least. I usually check it when i check the tire pressure.

Figured i'd give a lil update on the Ecsta SPTs.
Roughly 15k on them since i put them on in march. Rears are pretty much useless. At the wear bars in the center 70% of the tread, outer edges have 3-5/32s remaining. I have a bit of a heavy foot sometimes, but do drive 50 hwy kms a day though.
Fronts are doing ok sitting at approx. 85% tread remaining.
Noise level is not terrible. I'd say 6/10 with 10 as silent. Flat spotting is among the worst I've experienced though. Whether its +20* or -5* these tires thump to all hell for 10-15 min of constant driving.
Traction is far better than the Michelin Mvxvvvxxmvvxx's that were on there, but they were 215/55/17's as well. Much harder to swing the tail out in a heavy corner/throttle situation... Never tracked the car this year, so can't comment on how heat affects them.
I'm a bit disappointed that i got 15k out of the rears, but the car was new to me since I put the tires on and any light to light accel has been moderate to heavy. I will most likely try another set of 255's on the rear if i keep thiese wheels for next season. Interested to see how they last now that its a little less exciting to drive the car.

My Goodyear Eagle F1 A/S' didn't last worth shyte, either. They started looking nearly new this past spring but are now completely flogged after 10-11k, despite a wear rating of 420. Plus when new they threw rocks like a ****, as Eno will attest.
I don't really have a heavy foot, and the front Falkens still look the same as when I put them on last summer. Come spring I may try to find some 255/35 or 245/40 Falkens for the rear to match the fronts in wear/performance/looks. Or if I can get four of the same brand tire I may sell the Falkens (245/35-19). I'd love to get back to Bridgestones, or maybe some Michelin Pilot Sports.
Here's how the F1's looked 6 months ago: (trashed Falkens on the left courtesy of red35, haha!):

And here's how they look now (top):
