Calgary weigh station...

A friend and I were driving south to Okatokes and decided to weigh our cars at the weigh station. It said i (04 sedan 6mt) weighed 1590kg with me out of the car and a full tank of gas. His car (09 Audi A3 2.0t Q) weighed 1620kg. Does that seem light fr a sedan? His weight seems preety on, but i thought the sedans were a couple hundred pounds heavier???

Anybody weighed their car at a weigh station? What'd yours come up as?

mine weighed 3600lbs with me in it (~195lbs) and a 1/3 tank of fuel. so yours at 3500lbs w/out driver seems about right.

when you say you "thought the sedans were a couple hundred pounds heavier" what are you referring to? heavier than what? curb weight of the various G models is well documented.

Sorry, I meant a couple hundred pounds heavier than 3500lbs.

Alright, that clears it up. My bad calculations got me thinking about this in the first place. I some how came up with 32**lbs when calculating on my phone. I'm impressed with the G sedans being 3500lbs wet. My legacy was more and seemed like a much smaller car.

Thansk for the confirmation.

We're also lighter than G coupes and take every opportunity to rub that in!

Really?!? Thats where I went wrong thinking sedans would be 37-3800lbs then. Most of the weight threads I saw refered to coupes and I assumed we would be heavier.

for reference, my friend's 2004 350Z weighed in at 3460 on the same scale as mine weighed 3600, both w/driver. he weighs about 220lbs, and i believe he had 1/4 tank.

i think the 6MT weighs more because of the spoiler and Aero bits, and because it is a loaded model (only option is NAV).

Every time i see it written that my car has 260hp/tq rather than 280 it drives me nuts. Seems like more work to detune a car than to leave it alone.

Some say the sedan is 280, they jut put that in the lit so it would seem less than the coupe. I think there may be dyno comparisons to back that up, but I personally haven't seen them.

I heard the 03-04 is under rated also because we have the same engine as the 05-06 and they got 280.

I'd really like to see dyno results too. Searched a bit and theres just too many "dyno" results for other reasons. I don't think my car has 280hp though, its just not that fast. Anybody ever try to organize a dyno day?
