The funny thing is that the only way you could know you are several clicks out of your way is if you already know where you are going in the first place.
These (like maps) where meant for use where you don't know your surroundings.
My Blackberry GPS NAV app (telenav) has a setting called "optimized" which uses the best combination of Fastest and Shortest.

 

garmin nuvi 765t - i bought refurbished one from newegg.com, it's like new. lifetime traffic included. it's slick.

 

Ordered on last night. Last week it was $367 and when I cheked last night, well, I couldn't resist. Thanks for the input guys.

When I saw the price I took a double take. I checked to see if it was refurbished ( not ) and at that price with no shipping I couldn't resist. I may wrap it up and give it to N for Christmas.

LOL, yesterday, I got as far as I had it in my cart to purchase, then I changed my mind since my old Garmin 330 still works fine and I only use it in my GMC once in a while.
I told Karen I changed my mind because I would rather spend it on a couple FX mods.
I got the old "roll the eyes back" look and she said something that I really couldn't make out

garmin 330 is a POS, and i still have this,

i went to Detroit last weekend, (black friday sale) instead of me doing 3.5hrs on the road, i took the longer route to Sarnia, and got there in 4hrs

if u want a mint condition GPS Garmin 330, i wouldn't mind getting rid of this.

if not get the newest Garmin Nuvi 755T
