Morning rant...

What I dont get is why people INSIST on driving in the lane closest to an interchange... Do people not realize that cars need to merge into this lane? And by being in this lane youre only causing yourself to lose more time by waiting for people the merge ahead of you?!

This morning merging onto the 403... the center and left lane were moving comfortably... but EVERYONE seems to want to drive in the right lane. The next interchange is 4km down the highway so its not as if they are waiting for an exit.

I think a new law should be passed where vehicles must move to the center lane no to obstruct traffic moving on in off the highway. Since people dont have the common sense to realize it themselves, make a law, just like most of the other stupid driving laws they seem to pass with ease.

ugh... i hate stupid drivers

dont get me started on the people who drive less than the speed limit in the left lane...

IMO, the problem is they just don't show any courtesy to drivers entering the highway.
Some of they are a real PITA.

However I don't think you don't really want the right lane left open.
It should be where all the slowbees drive. They just need a kick in the ____s
...keep the left & center moving.

Haha courtesy is the worse... people see you merging and they speed up! WTF. If people dont like to have people merging infront they shouldnt be in the lane!

In all honesty... i think we just need to up our driver's testing requirements! haha

Yeah, I hear you, I get PO'd about that too.
You see it more & more these days.
Those dickweeds don't realized that courtesy would actually speed traffic up.

I have a problem with people being in the left lane, especially in the mornings were people are just cruising in the left lane and do not leave it open for people who want to pass.

^ I've seen a lot of that too.
It really comes down to the fact there is no driver training required to get a drivers license.
IMO, it should be mandatory, including a requirement for periodic re-training.

left lanes are for passing. in most places there are signs that say "keep right except to pass". yeah, right. i was in spain & portugal a few months ago and they know how to abide by these rules. i have no idea why North Americans have such difficulty with this.

of course, once a highway reaches its saturation point it doesn't matter what lane you're in because they're all clogged...

At my work, warehouse employees have to go through a mandatory refresher course every 2-3 years on whatever power equipment they are trained on i.e. forklift

There should be something like this for drivers and could even work as another cash grab or something as long as we get dumb drivers off the road!

^That's what really burns my azz.
Same thing for our employees and in MANY other work places.

But when it comes to driving
The savings in auto insurance alone would pay for this MANY times over.
Just look at the number of tow trucks we see on the road every day and the number of auto body shops.

...lol, ya'll shouldn't have got me started on this topic

What bothers me is that bad drivers think YOU'RE the problem, not them!

^+1 exactly. you think they are horrible drivers, they think the same to you.

i had this guy in front driving 90 on highway 404 left lane, and went straight into the HOV lane when it was available.

did he speed up? no. still drove at 90.

I agree with all the things you guys have to say. Unfortunetly none of it will change (I've given up on the hope); it's more than just having laws or stricter requirements for a license and goes beyond just the way people behave on the road. Best thing to do for your own well being, and I can't say I do it always, but it's to detach emotions from driving.

LOL Funny how much differences between drivers during the week or weekend. It seems like on the weekends the right lane is almost emty and going faster than the left lane on the 401.

Quebec is doing better than Ontario. They actually use the fast lane to pass and pull back to the right. Just like 90% of Europe.

im not a racer/ricer driver and im not encouraging anybody but i realized if you maintain your pace with the traffic limits and the sub-average drivers, u r doomed to follow the crappy chevy in front of me for 25kms on highway.i am trying to find the point where i dont get a ticket and going little bit faster than others.the most i go is 120-125. which i keep myself 5-10 seconds only.(mods im not encouraging racing or anything so please dont delete this :P )

the problem with the traffic in toronto is "too cautious " drivers. driver who are driving 80km on highway , 35km on a 50km zone.

im on city traffic, thx to lady in lexus suv as if she's a pro-driver, talks on the phone, left lane going 40kms on a 60 zone.so 25cars followed her, no one flashing or doing anything, im sorry i will pass u from right lane.

especially people talking on the phone while driving pisses me off the most, i dont think handsfree does better.u r still on the phone talking and focusing on the conversation only not holding the damn phone )

this is my rant

since now, it is banned to use cell phones, all the people are now trying to hide their cell while using it. which means spending even lesser time looking at the road.
