Will I Get Hassled for 50% Tint in Calgary?

Have a chance to buy some tint material cheap and already cut, but I don't want to have Johnny Law tell me to take it off a week later, either. Front driver and passenger windows at 50% and the rear side windows at 5% (I presume that's damn-near BLACK).

Any experience out there?

FWIW, I don't remember anyone from Cowtown posting about tint problems with the popo.

I have 35% on the doors and 5% on the back on my coupe and not a sniff from the 5-0. On the sedan, it is 5% all around the back and 50% on the front doors, once again, not even the slightest look from the fuzz.

I have heard the rcmp would crack down more for example when crossiron mills opened they were pulling people over left and right giving out tint tickets. I had had no issues though with the CPS and my tint it roughly the same % as the back side and read window. I am not sure on the % as it was already on there when I bought it. I have been tailed a few times but not been pulled over for it sofar even though my windshield is also tinted.

Thanks, everyone, sounds like I'd probably be okay. I've heard Red Deer is bad, but I don't go there too often.

Sylvan lake meets, we will wait for you while they write your ticket and make you peel the tint off. I used have tint on most of my previous cars, I lived in Edmonton and often visited Calgary I never got hassled but in Camrose i got a ticket once also in RedDeer i got one seems like the smaller centers they dont have better things to do. Last year i was driving Dustins arrest me red G and got pulled over and warned about tint, but no ticket. I know those kids that were C & D students in high school live to catch you with window tint in Sylvan.

In Calgary, as long as you're not doing something stupid(tm) to attract attention, they will leave you alone.

My tints are lighter than yours will be though Swivel. Just sayin'

^50% tint is the lightest I've seen at a shop. Unless it's the factory window we're talking about.

I had 38% in my coupe which was the next lightest I found. Front sides aren't allowed any tint here but I was never questioned.

Front sides aren't suppose to be tinted in AB either. Like WGMG35 said, unless you are doing something stupid, they will leave you alone more often than not.

On a side note, I roll down both windows if I am being pulled over for speeding (2x in 2009....lol)

Yea, at Shadow Tint in town here, they have tint from 5% to 95%. They measure backwards though. Light blocked vs. light allowed.

So I have 35% on my front sides and 50% on all the back windows.

The reason we did not get a ticket was that i pulled a ticket out that i got that day already for window tint.

Just do it Wayne, 50% they will never know. I run 35% on all my cars and on the truck and only one ticket ever.
