Costco Gas

Used a Costco gas station in Barrie last month and it was 3 cents cheaper than any station near it.

Anybody know which company costco purchases fuel from?
Also anyone know of any west end GTA Costco's that have fuel services because i cant seem to find a list online...

Good question. I have no idea though. If I had to guess I would bet from whomever they can get it from cheapest.

FWIW are you familiar with this site, www.gastips.com?
www.gasbuddy.com is another.

I stay away from unknown gas.. I am sure Costco gas is quality stuff like most of their stuff.

I personally stay faithful to MOBIL only!

sunoco 94 octane FTW

costs 3 cents more per L but I get an average of 50km more per tank so I end up saving money at the same time

I was going to switch to costco gas, way cheaper here than regular 91 iirc. Fairly decent location so I can plan to need gas when I am in the area.
edit: I did go with my friend this evening as he needed gas and the with regular gas prices here at 94.9, regular was 87.9 and premium was 94.9. I will definitely get my car there, also you can just swipe whoevers card so I can just use one of my parents cards

A lot of gasoline brands (and oils) are refined in the same refinery, just different additives are put into the gas for different companies. Petro Canada adds gas line antifreeze in the winter, Shell has nitrogen and other 'cleaners', Husky uses an ethonol blend. we don't have sunoco in the west so I can't say there.

Esso uses almost no additives or detergents in their gasolines and they do supply most of the 'independent' retailers (Save On, Safeway, COSTCO, Hughes).

I prefer Shell (also cash back on the credit card!) - mileage doesn't seem to change with the different brands really.

Guys, have a look. This is the Canadian section. We've never even heard of a lot of those retailers.

On topic my guess is Costco switches around periodically with whoever provides the deepest discount.
