^ I mentioned earlier that they were doing construction work on the bridge at the time, hence the requirement for the temporary traffic lights. There was piece of rebar sticking up all along the side of the bridge where they were working. They looked like the picture below however not near as long. Anyways, when my Father jumped out of his truck before it went over, one of these pieces of rebar went entirely through his right calve. He also suffered a broken arm and some minor cuts and bruises, but nothing that was life threatening.

My Father always told me that if he had been wearing his seat belt he wouldn't of had time to take it off and jump before the truck went over. I guess it's one of the extremely rare cases that seat belts can work against you.
