house mod tax rebate

What did you guys get since we get this awesome tax rebate?

I got two new toilets for my bathrooms. They are the ones with two button for saving water. They sit higher than my old toilets, feels like a throne lol.

Also got some new lights and random stuff like that, wish they had this tax cut for car mods!

I removed our wood-burning fireplace and replaced it with a new gas fireplace with marble surround and hearth. I also replaced all of the interior door hardware and heating vent covers (easy install but surprisingly expensive). This week I picked up a new pedestal sink, toilet and new faucets for tub, sink and shower for a master bathroom reno that I'm going to start in April. I would have liked to get more of the bathroom materials to max out the tax credit, but we haven't made all the decisions about the tub, shower and tile yet.

We got rid of our septic tank and hooked to the town sewer, I don't actually live in Sylvan Lake I live in the summer village of Norglenwold for those of you wondering how the hell we wouldn't have sewer already!

Also new counter tops, flooring, back splash for our bathrooms and a new sink and new toilet for our master bath. Paint for most of the house and the window frames as well as our deck.

Too late. The deadline was January 30th to have the work done or the materials on site.

Nice list! I wish we could have done our toilets at least, just wasn't in the budget.

There was talk of extending the program but the original one expired Sunday.

Marg and I refloored the house with hardwood. Not a cheap (or convenient) job but the 15% rebate will help.

I didn't do/buy enough to get over the 1K threshold to amount to anything.

However I did get an energy audit done on the house which qualified me for a $460 rebate on 4 toilet replacements (dual flush/ comfort height) like 4DGS described and and $195 for the $24 of caulk, enerfoam I spent. I sold our old toilets on Kijiji.

At the end of the day we will have a tighter house, 4 new toilets and still net $60 from the government after paying $170 for the audit. LOL

We had a strong energy rating that is also going to add good value to our home when it goes for sale within 2 years.

^^ People really buy used toilets? Who'd a thunk it?

Good job maxing out the incentives to do some worthy stuff.

^Yeah, they were 9 year old American standard white- 2 were rarely used. I put the 4 on kijiji and had them all sold at $20 each and picked up in less than 6 daylight hours. I had to pull the ad after about 2 hours. LOL

Pretty funny. my improvements cost me nothing and I even put $60 in my pocket.
