i need help!!!!

So today I was cruising and I got booked for going 80 in 60...so pretty much I got a 20 over ticket and lost 3 points...I was wondering is there a way to not lose points? Someone told me I can go to court and plea to a lesser charge? And what's thw worse that can happen if I fight it?

Wow lots of these threads lately...if you can't do the time don't do the crime. Go to the crown procecutor if the officer knocked down the speed for you, offer to plead guilty and pay the fine for the speed he knocked it down from but no points. So you pay more money but no points, or if you have lots of cash you can offer to make a big donation to a battered womens shelter that I would save for big tickets like display of speed or dangerous driving or 40-50km over. The really bad ones often a couple grand to a shelter + paying the fine can keep points off the licence.

go court, say not guilty for the higher and guilty for the lesser, u ll get ur points back and pay a fine ! but again premiums will hurt anyways(probably not as much as after 3 points deduction)

he was charged with the lesser if he pleads guilty to it he will pay the lesser fine and get the 3 demerit points he will loose the demerit points by pleading guilty and paying the ticket. I have no idea how you think pleading guilty to the charge will give him any less points.

If you go to the crown prosecutor and make a deal with them that you will pay the fine for the higher speed they may let you get away without the demerit points. They do this because they get more money and your not wasting the court time trying to fight it. They don't care as much about the points as they do about getting the cash. I have heard they don't do this as often as they once did.
