It's been almost a year and a half now, so I'm starting to think that line of BS might be past it's expiry date.
It helps to be just across the river from Gatineau, blending in with all the Quebec cars with only one plate.
haha thats a good idea. I'd think about doing this too but unfortunately my front bumper has had holes drilled into it to support the licence plate holder so it wouldn't look very clean.

In Alberta we don't have front plates either, but they were thinking about bring them back for photo tickets.

Just get a tinted cover to match the car. Looks decent and legal.

^+1... annoys the hell out of me.

I'm trying to decide what to do with the new car.
A custom mount in the lower grill, or another label plate on the bumper.

Shawn - Do you mean tinted lic plate covers? If so, they ARE illegal in Ontario too. Actually, any lic plate cover, even clear, is illegal here.
That being said, I have very light smoked plate covers on the front and rear which are very easy to read through. It may have more to do with photo radar or something IDK.

I do, but I don't recommend it.
It involves a stealthy Subaru and some serious physics. Then you have to find it on the road amongst all the other bits.
It did get me a bumper with no holes, though.

Yours is definitely the upside to having a front plate. My friend's is the downside. The rear bumper of his IP Maxima has two hexagonal indents in it from an unskilled driver that got about a quarter inch to close to him at the grocery store parking lot.

Yes I know they are illegal, but never been bothered for it and pulled over many times. No problems with 407 either. Less hassel then being pulled over and ticketed for no front plate IMO.

Yesterday I was handed my second written warning for no front plate in 8 months.

I'm starting to think that my 2 1/2 year-old sob story about my damaged plate might not work much longer.

What's the fine these days in Ontario if the next steely-eyed peace officer decides that I've had enough warnings?

A couple years ago it was $110. Likely still the same.
