Need to replace my car battery - any suggestions?
Just found out that my 04 coupe's battery is about 336 CCA and needs to be replaced. Wanted to do some research before diving in headfirst into the battery market (seeing that I know jack about them).
What have you replaced your stock one with? (assuming your G is a older)
Can I find the batteries the US posts talk about in Canada? I'm not looking for something to do heavy duty loads due to stereo and what not. It's a pretty bone stock coupe.
Thanks guys,
Al

I had to replace the battery in my 03 sedan a couple of months ago. I don't know much about batteries but from talking to a few people it sounded like getting a battery from Costco was the best way to go so that is what I went with and things have been good thus far. Mind you I don't have a pumping stereo or anything so I'm not sure if something special is required for that or not.
Good luck.
Good luck.
Funny mine died on me yesterday...Got an Interstate battery, the MT35 I believe. Its backed by a 2 year replacement warranty and a 7 year pro rated trade in warranty. Works for me I guess
I was desperate because I had to boost my car twice yesterday, so I got it at Mr. Lube and watched the "kid" do it so he doesnt mess anything up. Otherwise, they have the same batteries for sale at Costco.

The Kirkland Signature Battery at Costco is great for the price and the warranty.
It has a 100 month warranty, with the first 3 years carrying a free replacement and then it's prorated after that. Kirkland Signature is made by Johnson Controls, which is the same manufacturer as Optima, however, the Kirkand Signature is not a dry cell battery.
I bought and installed the Kirkland Signature Battery into my Sister's RSX a couple nights ago.
I changed the battery in the G a couple months ago with an Optima Red Top.

Thanks for the all the great feedback guys. I have a Costco membership and didn't even think to check them up. Great spot on that 'Johnson Controls' tidbit!
Just out of curiousity, who carries the Optima Red Top in the GTA? i wouldn't even know where to start...

i got a bluetop... deepcycle so good for stuff that you need to run for long periods with the engine off.... same as the yellowtop... extra pins that's all....if you want it, its yours for 150$ .. new.
Optima red top here. If you note, the battery sits right in front of the fresh air duct feeding the in cabin filter. So that prompted me to get a quality sealed unit like the Optima line.
