I never ever had any problems with Costco tires, the Michelin's I just had installed on the RSX are 2010 tires. Costco tire prices are lower because they are a massive wholesaler who can get very good prices. It is not because they sell old tires that nobody else wants.

A few years back when traveling near south bend we made a slight detour and picked up a new set of tires from tire rack and got a very good price on them. Too bad they were not closer to where I live because they are the best in tires. Unfortunately the shipping costs to Calgary Canada do make them more expensive than the same tire bought and mounted at Costco. Costco also includes fix flats and free rotation and the last set of tires I bought from tire rack I had a hard time finding someone that would mount them. OK TIRE wanted $360.00!

Tires do have a shelf life and there have been deaths attributed to old tires yet there is no expiry date for selling.

I have alway got current stock from Tire Rack so I am confident with them. Did not know Costco pushed old stock. In that case, I would not touch them.
Good point, Mark.......I always look for the date now, too, due to older stock being dangerous to use.
It's advised to always look at this date to confirm freshness.

^Thanks. Reason I asked is because it only has the costs for GST and brokerage but duty is listed as $0. Tires cost about $900 with fees and I expect some duty has to be paid.

I would think there should be some duty. This it what I get if was purchasing some OEM RSA tires. Maybe it depends on the product
