Kincardine Water sports
I took my daily 5 minute drive down to the boat to check it out. Our winds have been gusting up to 75 km the last couple of days (we did lose our power for a few hours yesterday)
I had my camera with me, and I posted in this section because quite a few guys here have been to my place, so they are familiar with it.
I tightened my dock lines up and all was well with my boat (it's the hardtop at the bottom of the pic with the white 250HP outboard on the back)
I then turned around and watched the surfers and kite boarders playing in the surf. Those guys are out every time we get a storm or high winds.
Here are some pics
First my favourite, this guy is getting swallowed up in those waves

Thanks guys.
The sad part is, about 2 weeks ago a girl from France drowned in the same location. She was an exchange student and it was only her second day here. The beach is all posted with signs stating there is a very strong undertow during rough water conditions, and it tells you to stay out. She waded out up to her waist and the undertow pulled her under. They never found her for 4 days. People do not pay attention, unfortunately there are drownings almost every year. Someone had to get rescued again yesterday.

My Father-in-law nearly died as a result of undertoe about 10 years ago in Costa Rica. He was standing on the shore in about 2 feet of water having a drink (maybe more than one - contributing factor?!) and got pulled out. A surfer found him floating face down with no pulse (he was blue). By some miracle there were two Swiss doctors (Husband and Wife) on the shore who revived him. It was a three hour ambulance ride to the nearest hospital and the plane for home left the next day. Against doctors orders my mother-in-law brought him back home. Physically there was no permanent damage but somehow it affected his personality - he became quite and withdrawn, not the normal outgoing guy he was before. Still it's a miracle he is alive.

I'm loving the pictures Wayne!! Those are some serious swells. Since we were away during Earl we didn't see any big ones here recently.
We were up to the beach (Bathurst-Bay Chaleur) this past weekend. It can be a bit noisy for sleeping sometimes as our bedroom is very close to the beach and high tide.
