G35 take down in Scarborough
Sad news - someone driving a black G35 coupe was taken down by under cover police officer at a gas station in Victoria Park and Ellesmere. Hope it was not someone from these boards...
Too bad looks like he came out shooting after he rammed the G35...what a waste.

Yes sad. I saw that on the noon news.
It suggested that it was a drug take-down involving weapons, and shots were fired resulting in one death.

I'm not a big advocate of polic brutality but did anyone hear if the driver was armed or not?
I mean ok, if he was trafficking drugs it carries a sentence but certainly not death! The guy obviously panicked and tried to run away, they could have shot his tires maybe I donno, hard to put yourself in the spot, maybe the officers thought he was gonna run them over...
I'll definitely watch to see what will come out of it! It's important to keep the police force under tight control while giving them reasonable force to fight crime.

I just saw this again on the 6pm news CFTO. The victim was Courtney Peters who was in the country illegally and had a history of violent crimes. Apparently they are saying no weapon was found and he was shot inside the vehicle, totally contradicting the first accounts reported on Citypulse24.
If you ever shot a pistol it is extremely hard to target an area like the tires...its not like in the movies but anyways the guy rammed the officers so they probably thought they were in danger considering his past... still no one deserves to die like that its unfortunate it had to go down that way.
Strange how both newscast specifically emphasized "Infiniti G35 coupe" like as if the brand/type of vehicle had anything to do with the situation.

I agree that the police need to be reigned in and watched very closely, but I believe in this case the G-driver was ramming the police car with his, which precipitated the shooting at him.
We'll have to see how this one unfolds. I hope it wasn't a case, again, of police using excessive and unecessary force.

I spoke to a reporter from a popular AM radio station and he told me police said that he had a weapon. Now this was very early this morning - maybe the story has since changed.
But definitely a bad-*** and since he was being targeted in a major sting operation you know this guy wasn't just a user. Major trafficer.
Watcha gonna do, when they come for you.

Re: G35 take down in Scarborough
I stand on the police side for this one.
First, im sure that police didnt meant to kill the guy. If someone in panic and running away from police, im sure he/she will drive the fastest as they can and this means other people might also be in danger of this action.
Second, police dont know who is in the car. Might be a drug lord, Might be a international most wanted who knows.
BUT, I think police using excessive and unnecessary force is true. I mean it would be a good idea to go catch some bad guys, instead of hiding under the bridge, hiding in dark streets trun off their light and wait for someone to fall into there little trap. Police is meant to protect citizens, and not giving them the hard time when they over accelerate on a down hill. I think they should hide around during their patrol, they should turn on their lights and warn people not to go to fast!
And all this is just an impossible idea

Ok, I have a couple of points again:
The cops were on this guy for a while so it wasn't just a routine stop or something they came upon. Frankly I don't know why they endangered innocent people and decided to take this guy down in a gas station! I'm sure they have had their own reasons but doubt we will ever hear about them
Another thing is to the guy who suggested if I ever shot a pistol I knew its hard to target the tires, well my friend actually, I've been an NRA member for 3 years and have practiced with 9mm "baby" desert eagles numerous times in shooting ranges so I agree while it could be hard to target something like a tire with such low targetting profile, from the pictures I saw they had this guy boxed in so I would assume they were close to the target, maybe 10-15 feet and thats hardly a distance where you can't safely shoot at something as prominant as G's tires!
From what I've read he shot 2 rounds but they haven't said which round was the one responsible for the cause of death or where the other round hit.
At the end, its sad to see this place resembling the streets of Los Angeles more day by day... I just wish people would stop drug abuse and face their problems instead of running away from them through drugs. It's so sad to actually see a culture where use of drugs is becoming acceptable...
