kijiji Rocks

Hi guys
Just thought I would mention this since I was sooo pleased with it.
Lately I have been on a wheel buying spree and bought two sets of alloy rims/tires and sensors for my GMC. Well then I had 3 sets.
The set on the truck (an 08) had some corosion on them but still looked not bad, the tires were quite worn (had one summers wear left)
So anyways I have never used Kijiji but some of the guys here said it is awesome. So I put those used rims/tires up for sale yesterday and they were posted on the site last night. They are sold and gone already by lunchtime today. I had 3 different callers, all tried to get my price down, but I stuck to my price and sold them.
So now I have some extra cash and just ordered a GTSPEC front strut brace for my FX from a group buy on B2autodesigns. In one hand and out the other

Thanks guys for recommending that site. I will be using it much more

Yeah it's a great site- but there are some real schmoes in there just like any place. You did the right thing by sticking to your guns and I'm glad it worked out for you. I recently purchased tires for my winter beater (camera shy) and approached the guy, had it bought and picked up in about 2 hours. Worked well- all was in good order, as it was advertized.

I haven't sold or bought anything off there recently- but one other site that I've been watching is the "usedvictoria" and "usedcalgary" etc... if you google the one for your area it's sure to please. Actually, for many of the things I've been following lately I've found that site to be even busier than kijiji.

I've definitely scored some nice deals on Kijiji and parlayed the odd one into some spare change for mods.

Way to go Wayne!

I have bought and sold plenty on Kijiji. 6-7 sets of tires, wheels, furniture, dishes, parts, my '08 G35X in 3 days to 2nd inquiry , electronics, weights, mirrors, 4 used toilets LOL and much more I've forgotten. In this market it's huge.

Whoa, whoa whoa- used toilets? You think you're getting away with a simple LOL after that with no other explanation?

I'm waiting!

We have 4 bathrooms. Last year I had an energy audit done. The federal and provincial governments offered a rebate of $115 per toilet for ones that meet new standards- I bought dual flush ones that cost me $110 each including seals, lines, bolts etc. through my work. I sold the 9 year old used ones we had for $25 each on Kijij, rather than throw them away or throw away money. I sold them all in the first day and had many more callers. I could have sold hundreds of them at that price.

My net gain was $120 =LOL

I also got back $295 for $22 worth of caulk/enerfoam/weatherstripping that improved (reduced) the air changes in my home by 10%+ from 1.52 to 1.36

I'm sure you guys remember my post of the scam where I almost got ripped off by some guy on Kijiji.

Just be carefull, no matter how sincere the person sounds, if you talk to them on the phone or in person. Accept no money orders (they could be forged apparently) and count the cash more than once if there is a lot of bills. My latest loss was when I sold one of my ATV's, the guy and his friend came together and handed me this wad of cash, mostly $20's ($5800 worth to be exact). I counted the cash twice but the guy kept distracting me by talking to me while I was counting, so I gave up and trusted the guy. He ended up shorting me $100, not a big deal but you can't trust anyone these days.

Be careful out there guys/gals.
