A man in his 20s was charged after an officer clocked him driving more than 60 km/h over the speed limit on the eastbound Gardiner Expressway early Wednesday morning.
Just after 3 a.m. on Wednesday, a Toronto police officer was responding to another call when the officer saw a vehicle speed by in the Spadina Ave. area on the Gardiner.
The driver was stopped at the York St. ramp, Traffic Services confirmed.
Sgt. Tim Burrows of Traffic Services said the driver — clocked at 155 km/h in a 90 km/h zone — will face a charge of stunt driving, which could lead to a licence suspension and possible jail time.
Other charges include speeding and operating without insurance, Const. Hugh Smith said.
The charges also carry a hefty fine of at least $2,000, and as much as $10,000. A white Infinity was impounded.
There were no reported injuries.

Wow to do 155 in a 90 zone is insane! I don't understand why the mad rush.
I mean we all have cars that can go fast no matter what we drive but you will get to your final destination safe and sound if you follow the speed limit. People give the car community a harsher time to enjoy our cars..

155 in a 90 isn't outrageous... maybe that he got caught.
But I'll do 120-130 on the highway and have people completely walk my car like I'm stopped. Which means they are easily doing 150-160.
People are just stupid.

Nah, not really me.
I learned my lesson when the officer dropped it down to 15 over in an 80. He did me a real solid by dropping a zero.
Second day I had the G.
