Back from Florida and a Bahamas cruise
How did you like your cruise?
I just came back from Western caribbean cruise this January.
Worst vacation ever. Never again. That was my first and last cruise. I suspected that it's gonna suck a$$ but had no Idea that it's going suck it that bad.

^^^Well, I never heard so many southern accents in my life and I actually started talking with a bit of a drawl (OK, a LOT of a drawl). The food was good at the main dining room, but the buffet stuff was a bit horrible and bland but plentiful. They still allow smoking on most of the upper deck areas, so we were always running the gauntlet of tobacco odours. Would I do it again? Maybe, but probably not on Carnival now that I've tried it.
I did a cruise 3 years ago on NCL Jewel. Food was great everywhere we ate on the ship... so in the buffets or specialty restaurants, didn't matter. My boss recently went on an NCL too with his family, it was his first time doing a cruise and he also loved it.
Entertainment varied from night to night, sometimes it was very boring, other times it was great.
I did a 9 day cruise with 5 or 6 port stops. Our last 2 days were on the sea and after 5 or 6 straight days of port stops, they felt very relaxing.
The concept of visiting many places is good and bad at the same time... nice to see different places you might otherwise not, but at the same time it can feel a little hectic having to get up each day for the port and then having to be back at a specific time.
So overall I found the experience alright and I'd do it again but it would definitely not become my primary way of vacationing.
I went on Carnaval Glory. Ship was in good shape, food was good, entertainment was excellent, but I don't usually go on vacations to eat good food and watch comedians, clowns and dancers.
I hated the schedule. Every day is scheduled and if you don't feel like not doing anything today.........well guess what........you cant do it tomorrow cuz we be in diff port.
I go on vacations so I can escape schedules........not on a cruise liner. You want breakfast.........you get your a$$ up at 6 am. You got up at 9........too fvcking bad, breakfast is closed, go to the buffet, stand in line for 20 min and get some scrambled eggs with bacon.
Then there are prices.
We flew into Miami and taxi driver took us to a port of Miami which was prox 10 miles away from an airport and charged us flat fee of $25. When we stopped at an island in Honduras we paid $90 to a taxi driver to take us around half of the island.....round trip was prolly 7-12 miles long.
And every time you get to some kind of island, you cant experience any of the local life style or culture. They have this fvcking mall areas built around the dock where you go and shop.........WTF.......shop?.........why would I wanna do that on vacation? I don't have to pay thousands of dollars to be taken to some island in Caribbean so I could go to a mall that looks exactly as a mall in my home town.

Thanks for the report, it is always good to get other person's views.
Personally a cruise has never appealed to me, even though I love the water. As Joker says it is too scheduled for me.
There is only one Cruise I would like to go on and that would be an Alaskan Cruise.

Another thing that I did not mention is this.
You are on this huge freaking ship with about 2k+ people. Even tho they do have plenty of diff options there are still always lines when you go to get food.
Then you come to a port and guess what.........you aint the only ship there. At one island we were at, there was 5 other ships. There were no docks available so we had to use water taxi to get people off and back on the ship.
5 ships, at least 2k people on each, that's 10k people. Water taxi can handle couple hundred people at a time. We waited 3 hours to get off the ship and gave up. Said fvck it and went to get a sun tan on the upper decks.
At all the other ports there were at least 1 other ship. Islands are always crowded and it's a simply a mess of a vacation.
Last summer I went to vacation at my sisters in Florida. Now that a vacation. Florida has over a thousand miles of beach, any type of beach you can think off. We spent 10 day there and it was a blast. Hung out at every possible beach, drove down to west palm beach and spent some time there, we did what we wanted, when we wanted. And all that cost us little shy of 2k, including fuel (drove there in a G)
