I've heard some good things about it Shawn, but I know you were using your PC a while back so you probably have higher expectations than what Turtle wax has to offer.

Yeah, The PC with the multistep kits are pretty awesome. Then I saw Black Box on the shelf and picked it up. I used to use a black turtlewax poduct way back which seemed to me pretty good. My concern is the fact that its not actually a black vehicle, its black paint with a clearcoat so i guess the black box defeats the purpose. Im sure it would be decent on the single stage black paints though.

I guess ill return it and stick to the multistep clear. Just wondered it anyone had tried it.

I got the turtle wax black box and it did great till I got to the last step(the wax). The wax had hardened and seperated in the dye. I tried everything short of pouring it into a pot and heating it up to get it to mix back together. I like the quick detailer though.

I just pulled this info off the CT website.

- Black Box is a all-in-one solution to protect the finish and provide the ultimate, deep rich shine for black vehicles
- Can be used to protect a new finish as well as restore the clarity of an older neglected black finish
- One-of-a-kind black tinted pre-cleaner and conditioner removes scratches, swirl marks and surface contaminants
- The pre-cleaner is quickly and easily removed with the unique black tinted spray detailer, fortified with micronized carnauba, preparing the surface for waxing
- Contains 12 oz black pre-wax cleaner & conditioner, 12 oz deep black carnauba wax, two 12 oz spray detailers, and 2 applicators

All this colouring suggests to me that's it nothing more than filler. There's only one correct way to remove swirls and minor scratches.

Colored Wax's are not any better then normal uncolored waxes, dont forget your putting this on clearcoat not the paint.

Black Box is meh, IMO

Meguiars Gold Class Soap - Wash - 12 bucks
Meguiars Claybar - Pick up Surface contaminants, also comes with Quick Detailer spray 15 bucks
Meguiars ULTIMATE LIQUID WAX - Wax - 20 bucks

Total 50 bucks, and your car will look fantastic and will last much longer then black box
Advance Auto Carries it all.
Not to mention all of them can be used again and again.

Pro Tip: For the clay rip part of (1) bar apart, and use it. So if you drop it on the floor you did not waste a whole bar (Yes if the clay bar drops to the floor you need to toss it)

Will make everything look good. If you want to remove swirls then you need to polish
