Which Air Filter to get???

I'm looking for a pair of drop in filters for my 08' G K&N are the first ones that come into mind but just wondering if there are any other choices out there?
I know there are dry filters to but are they as reliable as the K&N?
I'm not looking for CAI mainly because your paying BIG money for very minimal gains its truly a shame because I Love the noise at WOT.

Does it let more dirt in because of its increased air flow

Hi Roy, I keep on using Nissan filters and my G is still pretty quick with them
I here good and bad things about K&N. Mostly good. I think the bad only rears its head if they are not properly cleaned, dried and oiled which could allow for larger than normal particles to find their way to the engine...so it's a user issue.

Unless they've been added lately, I don't think the Ea filters are available for the 2nd gen yet.

+ or over oiled.

I've used them before, but IMO they are over-rated.

I'm a fan of Dry Flow, mainly because it is so easy to clean....and you dont have to oil it

I have used K&N but prefer to just replace with OEM filters. I agree with Paul and Ian on their views with K&N. I just changed my 2 filters with OEM before my trip.

If you are using the stock box ... the OEM one's have the most optimized air flow (come on Nissan wasn't eating peanuts while designing this right???)
K&N gets too dirty and then it is just worse than any other filter (have bad experience with them on my Altima). I would highly recommend going CAI or SRI but if you don;t like the growlin sound, stick with the OEM for OEM box. They are cheap anyways ... ebay them in bulk
Cheers !!

Nissan was sure as sh|t eating peanuts when they decided to use a Renault engine. You cant tell me that they never decided to cut a few more corners.

WHY do you still drive a Nissan then ?? and moreover WHY you're still on a NISSAN enthusiast website when you hate (i think) Nissan

And last time i checked .... VQ has been around way before Renault partnership dude ... get your facts straight ... VQ gets imported from Japan into Europe ... do some research ... and BTW ... just in case you are following Top Gear who once claimed that VQ is made by renault ... please ... you need to stop following some HUGE euro-biased freaks ... not starting an argument here but it ticks me off when people have wrong info and they come solid ..

anyways ... OP sorry for hijacking your thread ... am out !!

on the dyno intakes have always shown that you lose power in the long run from heat soak, so if i were you id get some from of aftermarket tube or 350z tube and either keep the stock filter or k&N or any other filter.
