It is. I know all about it.

I agree on the bumper.

Some dude in a drywall company truck. Seemed a tad toasted if I'm honest...

Now, we'll see what the insurance company has to say.

New bumper cover $448, paint

Insurance will require I pay $1000 deductible first then they fight the assailant for compensation. I'm not really worried they won't pony up, but it's a bunch out of pocket first and money's tight.

Hmmm...

Update: I can wait for them to waive the deductible (once the assailant 'fesses up) then get it fixed. I can upgrade to a different part if desired and just pay any delta above OE parts.

So, styling ideas? I'm thinking of a rear lip spoiler to cover the chromed abortion at the same time.

It might be worth it just to get the cash from the guy and pay to fix it

Comp $500, collision $1k. Pretty standard in Alberta. If you want lower deductibles you pay, pay, pay. If the deductible isn't waived (not at fault with a parked car), I'll pay to repair it myself since it will be less than the ded.

Update:

I got a call from my insurance today. Other party's company has accepted full liability and my deductible has been waived.

Rather than do aftermarket with the bumper cover though, OE nose will be fitted. As a sop to styling though, I'm looking to replace/cover/paint the chrome wingding on the trunk lid. Painting would be easy if I pulled the chrome part off myself and re-fitting would be a snap and provide a subtle change. However, a lip spoiler might make the azz of this thing look a bit less, well, um, azzy. Thoughts on this one? http://www.carid.com/2008-infiniti-g...ler-52025.html
