^^ and the 5400 HD is way to slow.
Sam, I know you are trying to find a good deal but this is not the time to skimp on hardware. Needing to update laptop components at a later date would be far more costly.
This is a laptop for work so getting something 'fast and furious' now will quickly pay for itself, in time saving, over the life of the laptop.

I hear and agree with the both of you. I'm looking for a model that has all the needed stuff. I will then wait to find a deal on those models. Probably won't need it for a few months anyways.

My girls have made their choice.
They've officially changed from PC to Mac.
They're both getting the new 13" MacBook Air.

I was out with them the other day looking at them;
DAMN that's one sexy looking piece of hardware & is light as a feather.

...almost forgot the best part of all.
They saved up for these themselves.

Nice choices. Did you get the extended warrantees?

They were thinking about it, I'm not sure what they decided.
Generally, I don't buy into those things, IMO they're just another cash grab .

I agree. If something doesn't go terribly wrong in the first year (or even 2 for some manufacturers) then it probably won't.
Now, if you get coverage for spilling your cup of coffee on it that's a different story.

My girlfriend finished Humber's postgraduate PR program last year and loved it. She bought a 13'' Macbook while she was taking the course and it has been more than enough to keep up with her work at Sick Kids Hospital. I'm sure that your daughter's computer needs will vary depending on where she gets her internship/job; but the only programs my girlfriend uses on a regular basis for work are Microsoft Word, Lotus Notes, Skype and Firefox.

Found this for 1/2 price. $800 as it sits from the US. Are the graphics sufficient?

Hey Ian, she will be paying for it herself as well, she was offered and accepted an intern position at Microsoft that is a year long and salaried as well.
