Close call today.

Not sure how well people know Victoria but we had a close call today on our way to Costco..Id just given the car another bath and a dry and we headed out the highway from town to Costco..Just after the lights @ Admirals and Mckenzie and the highway I pull into the fast lane to let people merge on the right......As im driving along the car infront changes lanes and pulls in to the right lane...Im about to pull up to speed when all of a sudden i see a kids plastic hockey net right in the left lane im in...I cant go right! I cant pass the net on the left...Do i hit it and take my chances....I pump my brakes to let the guy behind me know that somethings wrong i come to a stop...and he sees me and he manages to also stop....The van behind him doesnt stop, and eather does the truck behind the van....I have just enough room left to pull right up to the net....

Thank god every one is ok and only by luck did we manage to come away without a scratch.....The police were called, names taken and plate numbers taken...The police actually let us go because we had no damage and were found not to have caused the accident....but still we were a little shaken afterwards.....So there is something to be said about the 2 second rule....And being aware of where you are on the road.....

Yeah it's amazing how much thought and consideration we can cram into a split second when we are Focussed.

So that net I take it wasn't half a street hockey game in progress I take it from the streets you mentioned. Was it just road debris? I know I wouldn't have rolled the dice and plowed through it- glad you and cathy made it through unharmed!

I dont know how long it had been there, but im guess not too long....At least 2 cars drove around it before i got there...and all the cars in the slow lane drove past it.... no idea how it got there...The van that got it behind me was on his way to get snow tires for a trip to Calgary....looks like he may be late.....
