No, he likes the headlights - thinks they look more aggressive than the stock look, just as I do.
The spoiler is just more $$ than he wants to spend. Tried to lowball it, but no.
What's next? You'll cringe (as I am), but it's likely a more utilitarian vehicle. Ridgeline or Avalanche or something like those. Need to be able to tow, carry 4 in space/comfort, and move larger things that won't go in a Mazda 5 too.
As ugly as the Avalanche is, you can open between the bed and the cab for longer things and if you get a tonneau cover, you could even stow the dog there with the wall down.

We've considered a 'Lanche (the copper colour is very sexy) but the Mrs prefers a fully-enclosed SUV. I hear ya on towing duties/utility. We ordinary mortals can't afford summer-only, 2-seat toys. At least not until the kids move out, and by then I may be driving a walker.
Sad to see you part with yet another G.
As for the trucks. The two you mention really are very different from each other, especially in size. I can tell you, my friend has an 07 Ridgeline ( I have driven it many times) and that thing is still as solid today as the day he got it new. It's mostly a DD but we use is for our weekend Deck and Fence building work vehicle as well. Sometimes I wish it had a bit bigger box but for the most part its adequate. The cabin is very comfortable for 4 adults.

I can't speak from personal experience but a buddy of mine, that was a life long Ford pick-up guy, bought a Ridgeline a few years ago and absolutely loved it. Not sure about the towing capacity of the Ridgeline... I suspect the Avalanche would be better.
Another guy I know loves the Avalanche and buys a new one every three or four years... not sure if that is because he wants to or has to

Towing capacity is not the biggest factor, a spacious and luxurious interior and plenty of amenities are more important, plus build quality. We have a 16FT sport boat that weighs in around 1200lb and is on a trailer with built in brakes, plus I'd want a 4x10FT utility trailer for hauling sheet goods or yard materials for home renos.
I need a firsthand look at how the Avalanche front bed wall works before writing off the GM. Never was much of a GM guy, but Ford doesn't really have a play for what I think I want.
