Canada Post - when is an item delivered to a house vs. a mailbox?

Hey guys, wondering if anyone can shed light on this: When I order things and they are delivered through Canada Post, sometimes they are delivered to my mailbox, with a key to the large mail slot for larger packages, and sometimes they are delivered to my house instead. Anyone know why it isnt consistent?

Depends on where and how it was mailed out. If it's the cheapest option, your regular postman delivers the package and that's why they leave the key (if it fits in the box), or you might get carded and directed to your nearest post office.

Sometimes when the item is shipped with a faster service (USPS Priority etc), it's delivered on a truck straight to your door. Usually these services require a signature.
