I was wondering what oil you guys are using with mature engines? I believe the last oil change my G got was:

Of course my mechanic says to use a regular, non synthetic oil and change it every three months. He's a Penzoil kinda guy.

Anyone monitor their oil and send samples away for analysis?

im at 170k i always just get mobil 1 synthetic every 4k km

 

same here 115k km use mobil 1 synthetic.

 

Just over 150K and using Castrol Edge w/Syntec here. IIRC it got better UOA numbers than Mobil1 on the VQ35.

 

I used a motul 5w40 then went to motul 5w30 and felt the engine was running smoother and I was getting better gas mileage on the 5w40. I also burn a little less than a litre of oil every 5000-6000kms.

im at 150,000km and also looking for a good premium synthetic and too lazy to go through the whole oil analysis process.

Hows the castrol edge w.syntec? any burning? Any other good ones out there ppl are using?
