The Canadian distributor of Zaino has a website at

www.car-fanatic.com... he's located in Guelph. I will be picking some up soon!

What did you buy? Does it live up to the hype? I'm thinking of picking some up as well.

Re: ZAINO

I've just got home from Guelph (our local distributor) where I picked up some Z2, Z5, Z6, Z7, Z18, and ZFX. Not used yet .but will post with results soon. Your distributor is in Pickering
Log onto Zaino.ca for details. You guys in TO should all get
the product together : you get a 20% Discount for $800 single order. Sounds like a lot but doesn't take long to add up. TrippleQ and I between us spent about $300 so there you go. Yeh it better live up to rep.- It's not cheap. We'll see. Biggest prob. is finding a warm, dry place to do the work

Re: ZAINO

I purchased Z1 and Z2 .. that's it and that's all !!

Results: VERY VERY GOOD...

my tips.. or lesson from my mistake(s) ...

When you finish applying Z2 LET IT DRY for as long as it takes... It needs to get HARD/Hazed ... It took 3 hours for it to harden on my last application.

Second: Use the best Cotton Towels you can afford... dont use cheap ones.. I did not beleive that .. and it was a pain to remove Zaino.. till i decided to get my wifes bath towels...!

Third..: Apply a second coat of Z2 a day later... and let it dry to a haze once again...

Its been a month now.. and the car is still smooth...

We had snow.. ice...frost.. rain.. leaves...and its smooth....
for now ...

Regards.

Re: ZAINO

Man- o- man am I impressed Just came in from garage where I applied 1 coat of Z-2 (polish for CC paint) to my hood only, no flash cure, just cleaned first with Z-7 spray. My paint looked good before (it's only 5months old) and been kept clean every day. But after this brief Zaino treatment- QUELLE DIFFERENCE............... Now it looks like there's
1/8 inch of clear lacquer on top. I can't imagine what it's gonna look like after clay barring and a few more coats of Z-2.
I think I'll be very satisfied with 3 or 4 coats never mind 100!!!
Andrew, what's the Z-1 for? that's for non CC right? Another car?
I'm impressed. This stuff is GOOD. Thanks for the tips on application and towels etc(I had to go buy some, she'd kill for her bathtowels) Stuff is fairly easy too.
Goota go , I'm gonna do the roof before and trunk b4 bed.
Later- Gsedanman-Sparkleing Garnet Fire Sedan.

Re: ZAINO

Youngcanuck, I've just realized why you may have had some probs. with removing Ziano: I used the Z-6 gloss enhancer to get the dust off first , took about 3 minutes to do the hood. Then applied the Z-2 (5-6 minutes) Let stand for maybe 30 minutes- seemed to haze quickly , then buff. Amazingly NO RESIDUE when buffed! The towel was still clean. Just a thought. Talk Later

Re: ZAINO

I think you're supposed to wash/clay the car before applying Zaino? Well, as long as it's pretty clean to start with, you should be ok...

Z1 is for non-ZFX users.. it helps the Z2/Z5 bond to the paint. With ZFX, Z2 dries quickly enough you don't need Z1...

Re: ZAINO

GSEDANMAN When i purchased Z1 (bonder for Z2 ) i did not know ZFX existed..

Z1 is suppose to make a bond between your paint and Z2.

Its application on your paint leaves a finish that's not completely dry.. it does not haze like Z2... ..As Triple Q said.. ZFX is suppose to help Z2 dry quicker...

Leave a spot of Z2 on your car and go to bed.. then next morning take it off.. ( in our cold wheather. ..the bonding process is much much slower than in warm weather)...
You should see (as i did) a much much deeper gloss ..

If you dont feel a hardish feel when you touch your Car with Z2 applied ( its not curred).. it needs to harden even more...
* i might be wrong.. but the difference in shine/gloss is huge for me if i dont do this..

That is why i was saying you need really good cotton towels..to wipe it off...

Zaino actually suggests that you apply the stuff in full sunlight..(if my memory serves me right)..

Re: ZAINO

If you apply Z1 before Z2 and let Z2cure/haze you should have some residue !!

The first time i used Zaino i did not wait long enough for Z1 and Z2 to cure.. IT wiped off like like a charm.. no residue at all... it was too easy !!!! and the car looked great....

Now it looks awesome .. but it took many hours in the cold garage for it to cure/haze.. (z2).

Re: ZAINO

I've put more Z-2 only on for overnight. Sounds like it'll properly dry overnight and be much deeper shine in the morn.
When do you use the clay bars? Can clay be used between coats or only before you polish? I thought it strips off everything before polishing. If just the Z-2 dries ok, then I take it that you don't need the ZFX? It only helps drying, right?
My garage isn't cold- it's about 10-C and not damp.
Thanks guys for all the tips, I like the product and before long I'll be an ace too. Makes me love my G even more.
Later-- Gsedanman- Glossy Garnet Fire Sedan

Re: ZAINO

Z1 is a paint to polish bonder... it creates a bond between both party's.

Re: ZAINO

GSM, you should use DAWN (the dishwashing soap) to remove ANY previously applied layer of wax (gets rid of zaino too)

You should have done that before putting on your first layer of zaino.
