You guessed it- another Zaino Post :o)
Okay you bunch of shine geeks (and I mean that in the kindest of ways- please don't take offense), I searched all over the place, decided to try Z stuff based upon your praise, bought darn near everything they sell (well not the tire and glass stuff...yet), and showed my obsessive-compulsive ****-retentive side to all my neighbours. First, for anyone buying the stuff, just download the instructions and tips at zaino.ca. I know this will come as a shock to some, but the manufacturer's directions work.
And.... I'm hooked. You can see yourself in the hood of my DP coupe like it was a mirror. My bro-in-law, an autobody shop owner, was impressed. We did go all the way- clay barred the whole car first, then did 3 coats with Z6 in between. Great weekend for it fortunately. And we did a lot of the work in bright sunlight (which Z says is no probs, btw). Temperature was 13-19 here in Kingston, and the stuff was dry in less than 30, though we left it on longer. I think we could have done without the ZFX, but what the hey. So here's a q from my bro-in-law- how good is the longevity of the zaino finish? Is this something to do once a year. twice? Every month? I'd like to see some comments please on your experieces with the product, since the absolutely incredible shine on my G is a mere 2 days old. The bro-in-law is always on the lookout to expand his work, and try new stuff, but he won't just jump at stuff on a whim- he likes to be thorough in his research.
TIA,

4nroots,
Incredibly deep shine- very sharp looking- better than what I've managed for sure- what were the met conditions (temp, humidity, clouds/sun) when you did your work. How long did you leave the Z2 on for? Random Orbital to remove, or just towels and elbow grease? How much product did you use per coat (1 oz? 2?)
For the rest of the group,
has anyone had the stuff on for a while? How well did it winter, if so? Again, is the stuff good for a year, half that, or ????

YAH MAN
fantastic results .. incredible shine...
1 did you use 100% cotton (cannon or caldwell (manufacturers)) towels or microfibre
2 When applying and removing the zaino did you polish off from floor to ceiling on the door panels fenders and go bumper to windshield on the hood and roof and trunk ... as I heard the circular motion all over is no good and straight line like above are the best for less swirls ... more reflection
WHICH YOU HAVE TONNES OF.
which ones did you use Z5, then Z2 then the finishing spray...please say yes ...as thats what I bought.

Re: You guessed it- another Zaino Post :o)
thanks guys
actually, i zainoed the car pretty much as soon as i got it...i didn't use the clay bar (lazy), but since the car is brand new, i could justify it. I only let the Z1/Z5 combo dry for 45 minutes, and then the z2 coats only dried for 30-40 minutes per coat. I used 100% cotton bath towels (sears). For the tires, I used Meguires endurance. I did try and go from floor to ceiling on the side panels and front to back on hood etc. I used the z6 finishing spray in between each coat
cheers

What does the Z1 do exactly and do I really need it ?
I have Z2, Z5, and finishing spray (Z6)

Re: You guessed it- another Zaino Post :o)
z1 is required, it is a pre-cleaning polish...kind of like the foundation of the entire system. if you're at the next meet, i'll give you some of mine

Re: You guessed it- another Zaino Post :o)
yea you use ZFX with the Z2 & Z5 and you don't need the Z1. There's some Canadianized instructions at carpolish.ca . I bought all my Zaino from him and saved the $7.00 shipping charges by driving there on the 407 ($18.00) !
