Anyone besides me need to do door actuators?

Going to do or get this done when I get tired of locking/unlocking the passenger door from the inside. Just wondering if anyone else needs to do it as well. Maybe we could do so together. If anyone has done this nearby I wouldn't mind some first hand info.

I just did this job a month ago and I see lots of people run into problems (myself included). After wrestling with the drivers side for hours, I figured out the technique and had the passenger done in less than an hour. Where are you located?

Posted this on the original thread: https://g35driver.com/forums/interio...-thread-7.html

Total time spent 3 Hours - this includes time spent to grab pizza & beer

- The rod provided in the kit will be too long (you will have to cut and file down the end
- The bracket I made actually using a piece of sheet metal so it was easily pliable, but still sturdy enough to house the actuator
- I didn't use female bullet connectors, running your wire through the open end up the supplied bullet connector from the actuator will work fine, run it through and crimp it down, save yourself a trip to the hardware store

Just did mine a few weeks ago. Easy install took about 2 hours. Bought an actuator online for $50

Thing is I don't have too much experience doing this and although I have viewed DIYs and online videos I just can't rip apart my G like that, I don't trust myself lol. If anyone wants to help me/do it I can add some cash

I hear ya, I'm in the same boat. Watched the video, But don't know if I want to tackle it. I'll take some time to bolster my courage.

I fixed my driver side door lock about 2 months ago, you can get an actuator kit from Princess Auto for like $10.
It comes with the bracket, actuator and screws.

Here's the link: http://www.princessauto.com/pal/en/1...Lock/8008425.p

Hope that helps

Hey

There is a guy on here Red35 or something in the GTA that did my drivers side door lock actuator a couple years back. I'm trying to locate him again as now my passenger side needs it done. Good dude too never had any problems with the one he fixed.

I vouched for him on this site but I can't find the thread or his actual UserID. If you see this Red, please pm me,, cheers
