K&N Drop in Filter

Hey Guys,

I currently have the CAI from Stillen (popcharger + Airbox from Stillen).
However, i wanna try to see if it makes a difference in terms of sound
and low end torque if i put back my Stock Airbox in + a K&N drop in filter.

Yet, does any of you know where can i get a k&n drop-in filter for
g35 in Toronto...? for cheap....

Thanks

once again, i really appreciate the input..
but one more question

does anyone actually have a comparsion between
a Popcharger(stillen one..) and the Stock airbox + k&n drop in filter?
in terms of performance and noise issue

Cheers

Only my own subjective observations....but I liked the OEM settup with K&N drop in filter and Z-tube best. That combination isolated the inlet best from warm engine air, and gave good sounds of intake and exhaust resonance.

I've had and liked both set ups. But when I changed from Z-tube + KN to Z-Tube + Stillen Highflow Airbox, I noticed the difference in sound and performance right away.

It is deeper in sound and definately better acceleration. Overall, the stillen helped balance out the overall sound of the car front to rear with my HKS+midpipe.

BTW, when I added the plenum spacer the car became another beast all together and finished the job. The sound is just awesome now. HP gains and better acceleration?? You better believe it.

Sounds like you have struck a nice combination Chico. What size spacer did you go with?

oops
so now at least one (Chico) is supporting the
Stillen CAI + Z-tube setup ..that i am currently having

So, should i waste the money and time to put back my
stock airbox + a k&n drop in filter?

Indeed, i am just trying to cure the 04 stillen resonance...
but is having a hard time just to get the 05 stillen Muffler..

who would sell only the muffler?? or rear section? ...

Cheers,
G-mans

I would leave it the way it is. If anything, I believe is helping you right now. Your problem is the rear section of the catback. Call Stillen and ask for Dean and explain to him you have the old generation catback and need the rear section only. That should cure the problem with droning.

he, he...trust me it is taking me long hours to figure out a good set up. I'm taking my time and doing things in stages, so I can gauge each mod accordingly. I think I am done in the engine area. Just waiting for my Y-Pipe to arrive and complete the exhaust.

I got the 5/16" spacer so I can put the engine cover back on. I want to keep things as clean as possible and not over do it. Otherwise, there is no point driving our nice sedans.
