one part at a time...

last week, $2100 in an Alpine system.

This week, slotted brakes and braided steel lines all around is about $1600 before labour. Calipers are to be painted black.

Frig and I need to get tires. Anyone give me an idea how much tires costs? Ball park figure for stock 18s. I know tires are probably not the same on the Z and G but ball park gives me an idea of how much to set aside.

I don't see how rotors and lines could come up to 1600...

I cant imagine install price. I'm getting them all at discount. I believe they are KVR performance brakes.

Rotors and lines are pretty easy to DIY.

Pretty easy. The rotors are held on by the wheel so all you have to do is remove the 2 bolts holding the caliper, and off the rotor comes.

Lugz, if you didn't get your rotors etc yet, get a hold of Big_h to order the stoptech stage 2 brake kit for you, it comes to less than $1000. Slotted or drilled rotors, ss lines, hawk pads, motoul brake fluid.

I just checked the site and sounds like a good deal but I get calipers too. They will be painted black. I had the choice of silver or gold also. Black seemed better choice to camouflage brake dust.

Thanks for the info. Next time I will do a bit more homework when shopping around.

pretty much a special package deal. My hook up is my ex-assistant manager. Anything I want, he'll find it for me at one of the best prices. He can hook me up with a tanker load of JDM stuff because his side business is importing from Japan. I know my brakes aren't Japanese. I wont go full out because I want to buy a condo soon...and might end up selling my ride. But if I work things out...I really want to go JDM with the motor. Even though I'm half Japanese/French...I can't read Japanese. But I'm hoping to sucker dad to translate stuff on the web for me and then place some orders with my friend.
