So the 03 and brembo brakes also need to take 17" rims?

Not all 17" wheels will fit the Brembos. The more specific you are in your question, the more useful the responses will likely be. We're not really sure if you're shopping for tires to fit a particular car, or a car to fit 16" tires.

lol....well i'm not even shopping for rims/tires yet!
i don't even own the car yet for that matter. lol
I'm just planning on buy a G35 next summer and I was trying to calculate how much I'd need to set aside to purchase winter tires/rims.

So basically, i'm trying to figure out what type of rims/tires i'd need for an 05....and just in case, an 04 if i end up getting an 04.

You can get a rough estimate on the price this year, but if you are looking to purchase your winter tire setup next year, you know the prices will change.

Also, tires that are available this year, may not be available next year.

it is very tricky to find wheels that will fit over brembo brakes. i use 17" wheels from the g35c but i use spacers to get them to clear the brakes.

The 16" will not fit the 05 sedan, i saw it myself today.

I was about to put my winter shoes on, but guess what, it was a 16" instead of a 17" the brake caliper was too big, so now i am looking to get some shoes

Also i have a set of 16" Winter setup up for sale,if anyone has a 03-04 G and want a winter shoes let me know.

Went for winter tires today, and the guy at the tire shop (real friendly dude ) called up someone at Infiniti to get an opinion about the 16s. The answer was "yes". Apparently the dealers are putting 16's on non-Brembo coupes?

So, I guess I'll see for myself in a few days when the rims come in. The car is an '06 sedan.

Too bad... it's $300 more for the 17" setup!

The salesman tried to tell me the same thing when I bought my '05 sedan. I also talked to the parts manager at another Infiniti dealership for a quote on a winter package and he actually argued with me that 16's would fit - until one of his guys overheard the conversation and corrected him. One by one the Infiniti folks are learning (usually from their customers) that there was a change in equipment in '05.

You can't fit 16" wheels on any '06 G35, including the "X". They all have the 12.6"/12.1" rotors and dual piston front calipers that first appeared on the '05's. The good news is that it's fairly easy to find 17's to fit on the '05/'06 brakes - they're a little smaller than the Brembos.
