When You See Another G35
Hey all, just wanted to know what you people do when you see another G35? I always look at the car, then the driver to see if they are friendly and if they are, I give them a wave 'hi'. I've always wanted to roll down the window to ask whether or not they are on this forum or tell them about it. How about you people?

All I've seen are busy 'gawking' at my car the same as I'm doing to their's. They're all friendly and sometimes stop and chat. I'll be sure and remind them of our forum in case they don't know...............

Back in the '70s and early '80s BMWs (when Bimmers were a relative rarity and owners were more car enthusiasts than yuppies calling them Beemers ) passing each other used to flash their lights. I rarely see a G on the road here in Edmonton, but when I do, I usually try to attract his/her attention with a friendly 'bleep' on the horn or flash of the lights and give them a 'thumbs ups'.
So far, I haven't actually talked with another G owner yet, otherwise I would definitely tell him/her about the forum.

I always try to catch the guys attention but it really depends on how they react....came up beside a middle aged women driving a silver one....nadda...there is a Garnet one just like mine on my block but i've never been able to pass them while we are both in the car....i've passed it parked before but never while we are both driving.

Stick a note under his wiper and tell him about the forum and to say Hi LOL ! I bleeped at a woman in a red G on Calgary Trail the other day, didn't even look at me. My wife says "it's a GUY's thing" to acknowledge other cars.
Re: When You See Another G35
I agree with Gordgee, in the early 80s, flashing the lights was the universal signal of recognition for those that drove relatively rare cars (i.e. Bimmers or Alfa Romeos). Giving the tumbs up was also acceptable. But I also agree this is a guy thing, women in general do not repond. So far, I haven't had the chance to acknowledge another g35 by flashing the lights, but I have had several other drivers giving me the tumbs up.

Hope you don't mind a Yankee crashing your forum!! I agree with most of the posters that it's mainly a guy thing to acknowledge other drivers, be it the same car, nice car, or any car! Typically I will flash (lights), wave or peace sign another G driver; only had a few responses. Never had a chance to talk to other drivers, but will definitely mention the forum if I do.
