Question 1/4 Mile times for a stock G 6MT

I tried to look it up in the forums, I know on the Maxima site the avrg time for a 6spd Max was 14.7 to 14.8. I suspect this car is quicker although I could hardly tell the difference compared to the max I will be putting in a CAI, does that make a difference?

P.S try not to bull $hit on your times

Lots of times posted in the drag section of motorsports. It seems the times for a stock G range from a low of 14.2 to about 14.7 depending on elevation, weather, driver, AT vs MT etc. A rough average might be 14.5 People with slight mods may do a little better. Reviews on a CAI seem mixed. The stock set up works fairly well. I have a Z tube and K&N drop in which seems to work well and is a popular mod. Have a look on the Modifications - intake forum.

I haven't had mine to a track since there isn't one close by. I may try and get to one in PEI this summer.

Do the tires still go up in smoke Deane. I remember Canuck mentioning traction problems in your coupe .

Anyone have the K&N part #? Better investing into one of these rather than 10 bucks everytime.

I love it. If Shane were to really do that I applaud him for having some fun. I couldn't do anything with his since we were stuck behind all the traffic and other G's.

There are a couple of special remote places around here where I did have some traction problems not so long ago. I was testing some launch techniques and left a few "G" signatures behind.

I sure can say that since the temps have dropped below 5 degrees or so I have to be a bit careful with throttle and shifting with those pilot sports.

I have a serengetti G sedan in my garage right now. Mine is in to have the clock bulb changed and a diagnosis of a "roar" I am hearing somewhere in the left rear when it is cold after sitting for a few days. So I am having some fun with the AT sedan. Brakes are very sensitive on first application but slightly less powerful feeling after that and not quite as nice modulation as the coupe. The steering is more direct than mine but does not seem to have the same grip close to limits, it's way quieter and the ride way smoother, but does not feel as quick as mine. The engine is very quiet compared to the nice growl on mine at about 4k rpm. I'll drive it more tomorrow and have some more thoughts. I like the intelligent key too.

A friend of mine from work; took his brother-in-law's G to the track in Cayuga in October.

Bare stock, 2003 G35 sedan, automatic with VDC turned on he posted a consistent 14.6 on two runs.
