Audio Advice Needed!!!

Okay I need some advice on my audio setup, some questions and advice.

Questions:

2ohm or 4 ohm how do i determine what I want. My understanding is lower the ohm the better right?

Crossover: Really no clue

Coaxil or components: My understanding is Components are better for the front
and coaxil good for the back?

My car 2005 G35 Coupe, I have already ripped out the trunk backseat and rear panels. Sound damping it now so I figure I ask all of you for advice.

Subs:
Image Dynamice IDMAX 10 x 2 (now I just need to figure out which ohm I want 2 or 4)

Midrange Speakers

Image Dynamics CX62 or 64 (depends on which ohm)

Amps McIntosh

MCC404M 4 channel this will drive all my mids and highs

MCC602TM This puppy will drive the 2 IDMAX

head Unit Eclipse 5495

Hooking up to an IPOD

Now I need all the help I can get, is what I have listed good? or bad? Please let me know all this will be done in the winter time.

Lower does not mean better, I have seen some crap ones selling at the high range, but the audio sux. Just a matter of preference if you asked me.

The lower the ohms at the drivers the more power you will need to drive them to make sound and also more current will be needed. I would go for the 4 ohm. 2 ohm takes too much power and you may need to upgrade your alternator to drive the amp properly. Thats how I would do it.

Don't know of NE1 putting in 2ohm unless you're replacing OEM speakers & leaving the rest of the stuff.
Stick with 4ohm.. better selection available as well.

The crossover works with the 6.5" door woofers & the tweeters.
It splits the freq to go to each.
Depends on location of the tweets, how the Xovers are setup.

Xover on door

Here's a pic of my Focal xover mounted on the door panel.

I am replacing everything here. So 4 ohm is the safer way to go.

Now I only need the crossover for the door mid and tweeter right, the rear panel and the rear deck just your normal mids right.

yeah go with 4ohms much more options

but you gotta keep in mind that the stuff you're considering is sound quality stuff, not sure if the idmax is the best choice for SQ, probably more boom oriented

i had the same dilemma, but ended up getting 2 idq12v2's instead

components are also geared towards SQ as well, i ended up getting the Dyanaudo 240MKII'S, but i've heard good things about those ID's you're considering

i also have the avn5495 installed, just had it installed a few weeks ago

i put in my old MB Quartz in the rear but they are faded out unless someone sits in the rear, this way i'm only running a front stage.

oh yeah, if you want to put the tweets back in the factory location, you gotta check out the size of the ID's, cause my Dyn's wouldn't fit so it's on the door now.

give me a hollar if you want to check it out to get some ideas, i got an 06 coupe
