Love it. Keep 'em coming. That's a beautiful track. I'd love to drive on something like that although I'm sure my heart would be in my throat.

Love the sound of the rotary. It sounds like it's going to blow up or quit near redline!

I'll be revving 1000rpm higher next year with the new engine! I was shifting around 7200 rpm in the vid.

The day ran with open passing so I got to work on driving offline as well.

Now that would be fun.

I worked with a guy in a sister company who owned a first generation RX7. I forget what model or engine but it had an optional engine with some performance mods and was incredibly fast. He said it was only 1900 pounds or something and had something like 200hp with an incredibly high top speed. Does any of this make sense? The guy knew everything about rotaries and owned the car for about 20 years rarely driving it. I know he was thinking about selling a couple of years ago. Hmmm....

The later 1st-gen engines came with a 13b (1.3l) vs a 12a(1.2l). 200hp is definitely possible from the motor but definitely not in stock form. 1900lbs is pretty impressive...definitely not in stock trim either!

Okay thanks. Good to see you're up on all the rotary stuff.

Yeah it was years ago he was telling me all about the car and I forgot all the details. Just know it was pretty quick with a little extra power and some dieting.

Having a rotary is like a disease...it gets under your skin, you start to live and breathe it...

That's fun. Your car appears to have very strong acceleration and obviously is well balanced.

It's got pretty good balance...throttle steering and playing with weight transfer is an absolute pleasure. Acceleration however is sorely lacking...look at the 350z pull away from me in the straight!

Relative to the power output is what I meant. In any of your vids all of the cars have way more goods! What can you do to give it a boost and lower your weight?

I have a new engine lined up for next year that should give me about 220 to the wheels after it's tuned. I'm at 160 right now so that should be a huge boost. Not much I can do weight-wise while keeping it street legal for now. Interior is stripped, I'll be removing power-steering, A/C, sunroof assembly over the winter but that'll just offset the weight of the rollcage.

Now you're talking. That's a whopping 37+% power increase. Wheel hp will be near even with the Z and your power/weight is a big advantage. Doubt you'll have nearly as many people pulling on you in the straights.
