Went to Detroit NAIAS

Took in the autoshow yesterday...

TIP:
Anyone going down on the weekend...... Detroit traffic & parking is a disaster.

Park in Windsor & take the tunnel bus right to the show.
They have a show special for $19 cdn, bus & entrance to the show.

Saw the Coupe Concept.....
It definitely has a wow factor, but I'm not as excited about the direction they're going with this design as I was.
It gives a much different impression (for me) than what you see in the pics.

I'll post some coments & pics later in the Coupe Concept forum....

Nice pics Ian. I just hope the fix the rear spoiler of the new coupe before they release it. Those muscle cars look mean!

For what it is... the rear looks better in person than the pic.
The biggest problem I have with it is it gives it too much of a luxo look.

Those muscle cars were by far the most attention getting cars there.
People 10 & more deep, especially during a presentation.

Nice sampling, Ian. That's a good out for the trip across the border....Troops ask for PP or Citizenship?

Sounds like it was real busy.....and the weekend will be even more.
Look forward to more pics.

LOL, looks like they contoured the trunk around that spoiler doesn't it.

The 'muscle' looks good.

The Coupe concept looks nice, it gives more distinction between the Z and the G35 (seeing as how right now the G and Z has so much in common). But the shape looks like a merge of the g with an IS250...

i'm totally not feeling this neo-retro american designs on their cars, it's like they've run out of ideas or something...and the new names...HHR? it's like they got a random letter generator and picked three at random...

Americans gotta start picking up their slack, imo they're falling way behind.

yeah...I guess if that's how they'll come out, we won't have much choice but to get used to it.

Those new retro designs are cool to look at. It'll be interesting to see how the market will react they go to mass production.

Ian, the LUXO thing is what I like 'cause it sets it apart from the Nissan line (in a way) and a step closer to the EURO luxury. I don't know...maybe it's just those sexy 20's that make me smile...

Great pics Ian!! I am so envious that you got to go to the auto show. One of the few drawbacks of living in the maritimes is that we never have international shows like that!

I really don't have a problem with the look.... it's spectacular.
My main concern is that they don't forget the performance side of the equation.

Didn't think I was going to make it for a while....
I've been out of town on a project this week
& really should have been in the office yesterday.

Thought long & hard for a while, if I should go or not....
must have been all of 30 seconds
