Well, since people are posting the insurance cost for their couple, lets have one for the sedan as well. I thought i was paying a lot for mine, until i read the postings on the couple. Mine cost 2400, no accidents with almost 10 yrs driving. What are others getting? I'm in BC by the way so we don't really have a luxury of shopping for the best deals for insurance.

In Victoria, $ 1200 a year -- 35+ years driving, last accident in 1974. Also paid $ 140 for 3 yrs replacement cost through private insurer instead of ICBC.

Will check the details of the coverage after work and let you know.

Dohmer, I feel for you guys out in B.C. Thank god for capitalism in Ontario. Im 32, been driving 16 years with two recent tickets, speeding and no safety belt and I pay $1,315 with Belair direct.

You cannot compare insurance costs in Victoria to Vancouver. It will ALWAYS be cheaper on the island.

My insurance was $2K: basic through ICBC, optional through Family Insurance (private insurer).

I am at the full discount level (e.g. roadstar equivalent), and my policy does include the 3 year replacement cost.

APMX: You pay $1,315 for the WHOLE year? Man, if that's true, it's unbelievably cheap!!! I just recently switched to Personal, who does P. Eng group discount, got mine around $2300/yr, and that's already a huge saving for me...

I just spent 30 minutes with Belair Direct over the phone for a quote. It turned out to be $2500 MORE then what I am paying per year....man, that $1315 price is just too good to be true if that's for a whole year, my parents are paying more then that for their 1997 Camry..

I am well aware that costs are different depending on where you live -- it wasn't clear this thread was directed to larger centers only.

In any case, I have $ 2 million liability, 300 deductible on collision, 200 comprehensive and Roadstar for $ 1200.00

I agree you have to shop around, but in past ICBC had better rates that private. When I first went to insure my previous Infiniti (2000 I30) private was about $ 500 more annually than ICBC. I even got a $ 100 rebate then from ICBC for the active headrests.

Stalker: It s absolutely true, but remember we also insure our 2002 Pathfinder and house under the same policy, so we get a multivehilce discount & home discount, also the wife has a prefect driving record. Whats interesting is we actually pay more for the Pathy than the G35. I think the Pathy costs about $1,800. Oh ya, it also helps we live in Oakville, which is considered less "risky" than GTA.

The only way to really compare is for you to get a quote from ICBC for Vancouver. Other than that, we are just comparing apples to oranges.
