Detailing product orders + discussion on the next "Meet & Shine"

Hey guys - everyone who ordered products from DI, I am going to drive down to Syracuse on Tuesday and pick them up, so I'll have them here Tuesday night. If you would like them shipped let me know, if we've made other arrangements rock on. I am happy to deliver them anywhere within a 50km radius of me (downtown TO), otherwise we can work something else out whether it's shipping, meeting in the middle, waiting till the next meet, etc...

Alright, so since Sam and Colin and I have been sort of whispering about it lets start a discussion on the next "Meet & Shine". I believe we can use the same location again (Sam?), and now that we know the layout I think it's feasible that other people could wash/polish/wax/seal their cars at the same time. I think instead of doing a full 8 hour detail this time I might do a light detail on a car already in ok shape, then kind of wander around and help others on their cars since that was the idea behind the original meet. Sam had an idea about a small "entrance fee" that would help pay for the food + drinks, and maybe we could do a raffle where the winner gets a free detail or something. Maybe cruise around for a bit afterwards? Let's fire off some ideas and go from there.

What does everyone think? Any ideas on potential days? I'm thinking one of the early June weekends?

Cheers guys - go hug your moms.

Picus, is it too late to place an order to DI?

I think your idea is excellent. A small entrance fee would be fine.

Hmm - it probably isn't too late. Why don't you PM me with your order and I will let you know by tomorrow afternoon if it's going to work or not. I'd say there is a good chance we'll be able to add it.

Edit - George says no problem. PM it on over.

Perfect, thanks for getting the order together for us Kevin!!

I'll shoot you an email to arrange to pickup my order.

As for the Meet & Shine, I know the 3rd and 4th is no good for me. I'll be in Ottawa that weekend. I think I'm available for the other weekends.

You should see my kitchen, ~$4000 of detailing stuff hah.

Gotta move that stuff out Kevin. It wouldn't do for your wife to do you in. I've still got so much to learn.
I'll be in TO over the weekend, depening on schedules, we could meet up. Otherwise I can make alternate arrangements or wait until the next detailing meet.
Thanks again Bro.

Cool Sam - send me a PM and I am sure we can work something out. Your order is impressive!

Edit - re: the meet, looks like maybe there isn't much interest this close to the last meet. It's no prob, we'll hold off till there is.

Hey Kevin... thanks for looking after us.

If you PM or email the final cost, I can pickup the supplies any time you're
doing a job in the Markham/Thornhill area.....

OR

We're trying to arrange a Timmies mini-meet next week,
for some of the guys to get their air filters from me.
We could do the 2 birds with one stone thing.....

OH...
When you send the cost, be sure to include some gas money.
I'm sure everyone would like to kick in a little.

RE: the meet
I would agree, maybe best to wait for a while.
Eric was trying to get a meet going....we should jump on that.
Some sort of cruise, eats, go-carts...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thanks again
Ian
I've been watching the Timmies thread. I could bring both yours and Bills order to that but I think you're going with Thursday? That's pretty bad for me. I will try, but if not we'll figure something else out. I'm around all areas of the GTA pretty often.
Just WOW !!!!! Friggin WOW !!!!
Not much room left for food prep on those kitchen counters. I can see why your wife would be anxious to get those goodies outa there. Not to mention the cash outlay that you have put down.
I'm open for the next meet and shine - happy to pay a fee. Sorry I couldn't make it to the last one - I love cleaning the car, and now that I have my new wheels/tires on, I could definitely use some advice on decent products.
As for the Timmies mini-meet next Thursday, I'm in - just to say hi - I work near 16th and Woodbine as well - so it's a minute away from me. I'm south of there near Buttonville.
If there's any chance I can get some wheel protector/polish/sealant - that would be great - though I'm guessing that it's all spoken for. I would also like something to wipe on the rubber - not that there's much of it!
Thanks,
Mike
