Great pics, Ian........lovely countryside there and brings back some fond memories of climbing the walkway all the up the Ausable Chasm....

......love that timed shot of the river.....the lighting made it look like magma....

The shots of the locks at Messena are very similar to the locks at my old hometown on the Rideau river and of course our Welland Canal system.
Those ships certainly do fill those locks up nicely.

The views are spectactular , tnx for sharing....glad you had an uneventful (safe) trip and are home safely....

.......hope you didn't get up to too much 'spelunking' in those caves.....

More pics if you have them.

C.

Hey we got back on Monday evening and just got a chance to catch up with the site now. We had a good time and enjoyed meeting up with Ian and his wife. I got to see his new handiwork in person and it sure looks nice.

Lots of R&R and another 2950km on the clock. Here are a few pics of the climb up Mount Washinton in New Hampshire.

Great pics from Mt. Washington Deane. It sure is a beautiful place up there when the visibility is good. The drive up the auto road must of been nice in the G.

I actually proposed to my wife on top of Mt. Washington.

Thanks.
Yes I survived the Bangor blitz.

On the way home Heather caught the max speed indicated on the Garmin trip screen that one time I zipped ahead of you on that rolling straight stretch on the way to the Adirondack Museum. Oops.

Yeah it is truly beautiful. The G was great going up and down. Loads of torque and handling to boot.

The Mt. Washington auto road has a race every year called Race To The Clouds. We should enter in race next summer with our Gs.

Yeah I listened to the CD on the way up and down. 1908 cars were doing it in about 30 minutes; nowadays under 7 minutes for the 8 miles to the top. They reach over 100mph in places.

There is also a running road race. Top runners do it in under an hour. On a flat 8 mile race course I can do it in about 52:00- 53:00 but would likely need double that or more for Mount Washington.

It is hard to imagine reaching 100mph on ANY stretch of that road! One wrong move and you could be doing a nose dive a few thousand feet down!

^ glad you enjoyed the pics.

It was actually pretty cool following the Ford off the ferry on a small country road. I was surprised but the power he had. He had it up to up 75km/hour. The exhaust on it couldn't have been more than a 1" diameter.
